Greyhound articles

Hampshire County Division

I'm rather curious, why do you think the Hampshire County Division needs cleanup? Do you have any further information about it? David Newton 00:31, 8 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Honestly I'm not sure right at this moment. I tumbled into it from the dead end pages list. Usually when I work on pages from that list I work on 2 or 3 at a time (dial up connect from home makes it easier to work that way). I may have added cleanup to the wrong page. Sorry about that. George School

Good edits on my work on the George School page, I'm glad to see that you and I are working together once again! I like to keep my Wikipedia identity secret, but you, using your initials and listing both your schools, give yourself a way a bit. Then again, if you notice I've been editing the croquet articles and think about your buddy who hosted the croquet games on South Lawn, you'd've figured it out anyway. Shh... don't tell!

Anyway, I had to hold back not to write some overblown thing in the GS entry about how a tradition of intramural croquet games comes and goes with student interest. Did you like how I added the APs to the academic section because I didn't want sports to be longer than the part about classes? Yeah, I was quite proud that I was able to list the APs easilly, having taken all of them! It's true, GS was a pretty good fit for me...

Well well, I was suspious if you were someone I knew, good to know my instincts are fairly well tuned. There aren't that many people with my set of schools, so it should be pretty easy to figure out if you know me. Rabbits and Guinea pigs

Dear Ahc, will this be appropriate to add links to our pet care portal pages and photogallery to your articles about Rabbits and Guinea Pigs? (site is petsyclopedia.com)

To be clear, they aren't MY pages. In general the groups working on both pages have generally tried to avoid likes to commercial sites as they bias the neutrality of the article and wikipedia in general.. Sex education

Quakers in Kenya

For starters: Make YM articles links (might add them to the list of things to do on the RSoF project page as well). Catagories. Formating (particullary around list YM's). Probably should break out a history section.

Religious Society of Friends

I like the edits you made on September 2, 2005. When you have time, could you look at my work on Elizabeth Fry, Elias Hicks, and Isaac Penington (Quaker)? I would like to add a picture to Elias Hicks, but I don't know how to. Logophile 16:38, 2 September 2005 (UTC)

I'd be happy to take a look. To add in image (once you have a legal copy to upload) click on the upload file link in the toolbox on the right. Once you get the image uploaded it'll give you a link which can be used with an image tag. Greyhound links

Thanks for your work on the Greyhound entry. I agree that some links should be removed, perhaps the greyhound-data link could be restored as it refers not exclusively to one subset of the greyhound breed. That site (which I have no affiliation with) actually provides quality information on any type of greyhound, especially pedigree and prospective breeding info. Mikieminnow 13:50, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Your advice on the Friends University page

Thanks for your fixes and advice on my recent additions to the Friends University page. I was kinda wondering, though, if you could elaborate on your caution to me. I thought I was doing everything right, so anything you point out as a change in the way I did things is benificial, in my opinion. My talk page would be a good spot, unless you think somewhere else would be better. I was just a little confused when I read your comment, that's all.

hmm, you raise a question here. With the explosion of silly Quaker sub-categories, I never noticed that we're missing one for Quaker Organizations. We should fix that. While I was a student at Oilum College, in addition to calling our professors by their first names, rather than "Doctor" or "Professor," we named them nicknames. I gave three examples, all of which you removed. I highly resent your removing them from the article. Why not check with me, first? If it's citations you want, then indicate that that's what you want. I CAN PROVIDE THEM. Please be a more civil Wikipedian. Remember: It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice. I was only 19 years old, and I had some traumatic experiences there. I still live with these experiences. Greyhound adoption RGT

Hi,

The RGT is the UK equivalent of the US Greyhound rescue site www.charityguide.org/volunteer/fewhours/greyhound-rescue.htm as listed. It is not imho a "specific group" but a national organisation. I agree on keeping minor niche groups off lists, otherwise, as you say, they do become link farms, however as a Grey adopter in England myself, I believe this site gives a valid viewpoint on the subject and deserves its place on the talk page. --Badgernet (talk) 15:30, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:American_Friends_Service_Committee_logo.png

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:American_Friends_Service_Committee_logo.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. AFSC

Thanks for your note, good see someone is "looking after" this page, even if subject to COI restrictions.

Yes, I really should do more work on Quaker articles, but there is so much to do here. Like all articles on my watchlist, I will continue to correct any obvious vandalism on AFSC. My work tends to go in phases, right now it's on Triathlon articles, but it might be Israel/Palestine (I'm sure I would go nuts if I tried to edit I/P full-time, it really is quite bizarre), or Scottish articles, or disambiguation, or Quaker/scientist biographies (my dad was a research scientist, so I have a lot of respect for good scientists). If and when I come back to Quaker articles, it's unlikely I'll do very much on AFSC, partly because I don't have the experience of the U.S. context, and partly because other Quaker articles need a lot of work, for example QPSW is in a much worse state than its counterpart, AFSC. Nevertheless, I'll keep in mind your request, and will see what I can do.
