Natacha LSP, it's better to translate off-wiki, but I'll do as you say for now. Note that the current referencing style is completely incompatible with Wikipedia:Inline citation and the references themselves do not seem to be independent third-party sources. My French isn't great, but the tone seems to be largely promotional rather than giving us independent data on the outcomes. Hi @Natacha LSP: - It is okay to edit and/or teach in a sandbox. If the sandbox is being used for article creation (vs. a place to keep track of favorite tools, etc.), the content should comply to policies regarding citing sources, plagiarism, close-paraphrasing, biographies of living people, photos of living people, etc. --Rosiestep (talk) 17:46, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My first entry deleted[edit]

I am trying to start a catalogue of biographies of non-fiction authors in the genre of my interest and the very first one has been deleted as self-promotion. I can't see what is self-promotion. I have also referenced from outside sources, not directly to the website of the author. Can it be restored? Please tell me what I have done wrong and how to fix - I checked other similar authors and they have similar entries. It took me ages! :( Ikzhikal (talk) 14:06, 28 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you - please could I have my work back into my Sandbox, so that I don't lose what I have done? I will read all the information you have sent me and respond/adjust. I built this entry by referring to other Wikipedia articles for very similar authors (with similar notability) as a template. They also have mentions of organisations, their companies, events they have been involved in, their books in the references - so very confused how the articles for those authors were approved! Ikzhikal, I can restore the text, but you don't appear to have addressed my COI query yet, you must do so. Also the fact that other articles have not been deleted doesn't help you, either they met the criteria or they should be deleted as well. See What about article x?. Also note that many articles would have been accepted before the notability guidelines were made stricter. Ikzhikal if you have a non-financial link to the author (you are her, a friend or relative), add the following to the article talk page {{Connected contributor|User1= Ikzhikal}}. If you have a paid relationship (eg agent, manager or publisher), you must complete the following {{paid|user=Ikzhikal | client= }} and post it on your user page, User:Ikzhikal. Deletion of Solutionary entry[edit]

Hello! I am new to writing on Wikipedia. I created a draft in my sandbox and thought I'd made a mistake so I created an article directly. The sandbox entry was removed by you but I also do not see the article which said it was being reviewed 2 months ago. Please help by directing me how to properly move forward with the submission of the article for review. Do I create a new article or a sandbox one? Thank you! Wayne Riddell[edit]

PS: This is not a promotional piece. Wayne Riddell was considered, along with Elmer Iseler and Ewan Edwards, to be one of the premier choral conductors in Canada. Appointed to the Order of Canada (the highest civilian honor), he had a significant professional career, as documented in his Globe and Mail (Canada's national newspaper obituary, in his entry in the Canadian Encyclopedia, and many other sources which I've listed. Ekalaka59324 nearly all the problems remain. Your text still has a promotional tone a fine music program which still flourishes today, it still has no references apart from the three that don't work, and you still haven't responded to the COI query. The only obvious change is that you restored the list of external links that I said Drmies had removed, and I've now removed again. I'm old, too, but I don't think my guidance is that high-tech. Find proper inline references for all the text, make sure they work, don't stick a list of external links at the end, write neutrally. I'm going to be away for most of tomorrow, so I'll leave the draft for now to give you some breathing space, but if you are unwilling or unable to follow the guidance, I'll stop you creating this article altogether Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:18, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
