I have nominated List of works with different titles in the United Kingdom and United States, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of works with different titles in the United Kingdom and United States. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Fair use rationale for File:Ssnape_rowling.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Ssnape_rowling.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Melesse (talk) 03:33, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Leonardo[edit]

Yes we all know that Italy was not a political entity until much later. Regardless of that, Italians consider Leonardo to be Italian, and to belong to all of them, rather than just Florence or Tuscany. The matter has been discussed a number of times. It keeps coming up. The people who make this change are not Italian. Two Italian wikipedians have collaborated on this article. Amandajm (talk) 13:00, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Ross O'Carroll-Kelly (newspaper column). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Ross O'Carroll-Kelly. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Ross O'Carroll-Kelly - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Autarch (talk) 17:56, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Thanks for uploading File:Starry plough flag.gif. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 08:06, 16 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Psra.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Psra.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:35, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Chver.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Chver.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. JaGatalk 19:36, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from List of years in film. When removing content, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the content has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Problems with upload of File:Ntate.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Ntate.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or provided a license tag. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, select the appropriate license tag from this list, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the information to the image's description. If you can't find a suitable license tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. File:Ntate.jpg needs authorship information.[edit]

Dear uploader:

The media file you uploaded as File:Ntate.jpg appears to be missing information as to its authorship (and or source), or if you did provide such information, it is confusing for others trying to make use of the image.

It would be appreciated if you would consider updating the file description page, to make the authorship of the media clearer.

Although some images may not need author information in obvious cases, (such where an applicable source is provided),authorship information aids users of the image, and helps ensure that appropriate credit is given (a requirement of some licenses).

If you created this media yourself, please consider explicitly including your user name, for which:{{subst:usernameexpand|EamonnPKeane}} will produce an appropriate expansion,

or the {{own}} template..

If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 20:37, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ass Burgers[edit]

Hi. Thanks for participating in editing the Ass Burgers article. However, please do not add unsourced personal observations on pop cultural references to articles, as you did with this edit, as this violates Wikipedia's policies of Verifiability and No Original Research, in particular WP:SYNTH. Wikipedia requires that all material added to articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable sources explicitly cited in the text in the form of an inline citation. Where cultural references in works of satire or parody are concerned, the source must explicitly mention the work's use of it, and trivial information that is not sourced or cannot be incorporated into the major sections of an article should not be included, per WP:TRIVIA. The article National Hurling League 2013 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:CRYSTAL. Unsourced and speculative - nothing to see yet.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Darfur national football team requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you.  thesimsmania  18:41, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to wikiFeed[edit]

Hello EamonnPKeane,

I'm part of a team that is researching ways to help Wikipedia editors find interesting content to contribute to Wikipedia. More specifically, we are investigating whether content from news sources can be used to enhance Wikipedia editing. We have created a tool, called wikiFeed, that allows you to specify Twitter and/or RSS feeds from news sources that are interesting to you. wikiFeed then helps you make connections between those feeds and Wikipedia articles. We believe that using this tool may be a lot of fun, and may help you come up with some ideas on how to contribute to Wikipedia in ways that interest you. Please participate! To do so, complete this survey and follow this link to our website. Once you're there, click the "create an account" link to get started.

For more information about wikiFeed, visit our project page. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask via my talk page, or by email at wikifeedcc@gmail.com. We appreciate your time and hope you enjoy playing with wikiFeed!

File permission problem with File:Mand.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Mand.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 17:05, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Pea Fröhlich has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Notability, also unsourced BLP as IMDB is not a reliable source.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. This is an automated message from VWBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Clare Island Salmon, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Imokilly Regato. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. VWBot (talk) 14:24, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Files missing description details[edit]

Dear uploader: The media files you uploaded as:

If the information is not provided, the images may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

I am going to make work specific templates. The huge template has a lot of content that is related, but it is formatted differently than a lot of other great writers. When I am done the bottom of this page will look something like Charles Dickens, Oscar Wilde, H. G. Wells and Fyodor Dostoyevsky. Creating works specific templates allows for some tangential content that is relevant to the work but not the general audience for the author. I am notifying you because you are one of a handful of editors with more than 5 edits to the template. Hi EamonnPKeane, Thanks for adding the Irish pronunciation. I have added back 'Irish Underwater Council' based on the precedent of the CFT's website. I assume CFT has done this for the benefit of non-Irish visitors to its website and as the words 'Irish Underwater Council' are part of its company name. I personally only knew CFT as being the 'Irish Underwater Council' until relatively recently when one of guys who taught me technical diving told the class that he was born in Mayo (I think) and learn to dive with CFT at the local pool in his home town. Your edits at Purple drank[edit]

I removed your edit at Purple drank. Not only were the sources unreliable, but the passage you added also misrepresented the autopsy findings in a way that was factually incorrect. Even if it were correct, however, the passage as written would certainly qualify as original research or WP:SYNTH.

Please do not insert this material in the future. I would strongly suggest you review Wikipedia's relevant policies, specifically WP:RS and WP:OR. -- UseTheCommandLine ~/talk ]# ▄ 21:02, 24 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Noticed your addition reverted, I had initially thought I was the first to bring forth the issue. I am interested in addressing the objections made to the edit. Beginning with the SYNTH accusation of misrepresenting autopsy findings, UTCL could be asked to clarify why they think it is misrepresenting, and how to express things more neutral. "liver damage consistent with dextromethorphan abuse" for example, is he saying both your BreakingBrown and OccupyHLN references are misrepresenting, and what the reality of the liver autopsy was? Infobox canal[edit]

I noticed that Jamestown Canal and Lecarrow Canal have a {{convert}} error. That's because {{Infobox canal}} accepts only miles for the length and feet for the elevation; in both cases, the unit must be omitted. I updated the infobox documentation to match what I think the infobox requires, but the articles need a bit of work to remove the convert error. Perhaps the infobox should be enhanced to provide more options? Johnuniq (talk) 20:58, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Abbey plc requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of 2015 National Hurling League, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: 2014 National Hurling League.

CorenSearchBot (talk) 10:28, 1 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Fermanaghnewcrest.jpg[edit]

Hello, EamonnPKeane. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Raiders of the Lost Dork, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Mr. Guye (talk) 20:33, 26 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Blackwater[edit]

Hi EamonnPKeane. I reverted your move of River Blackwater, Northern Ireland and the disambiguation page edits. These moves where not discussed and are flawed. 1) What source do you have that these names are the most common for these rivers? 2) The ancient defunct provinces of Ireland are not currently existing geo-political entities to be used to disambiguate a geographical feature.

98+% of the river (from its Fivemiletown source) as far as I can see from maps flows through Northern Ireland an existing geo-political entity. The lede of the article explains that it runs partially through Monaghan in the Republic as well. The exact distance of which would be useful for addition. Whilst not a perfect source to use an example but Britannica online even state simply Northern Ireland. The Blackwater only passes into Monaghan at one very short point that is quite insignificant for the basis of changing the article title. The Monaghan Blackwater however is a seperate river that I notice does not have its own article. It flows into the River Cor which runs into the River Blackwater in Northern Ireland but they are not the same river. Mabuska (talk) 00:04, 15 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Translations[edit]

In a recent edit you made on The Karate Kid, Part II, you added the Japanese translations of several character names. Because this is an American film, I would think it is unnecessary, unless those translations have been published or serve some kind of standard manual of style guideline under WP:FILM (both of which do not appear to be the case). --GoneIn60 (talk) 18:37, 12 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Moat Theatre, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.jolly.ie/2013/03/moat-theatre-naas/.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. Categorising categories[edit]

Hi. Could I ask that when you create a category such as Category:Theatres in County Kildare or Category:2015–16 in Irish rugby union that instead of just leaving it blank, you add some categories to it and perhaps a {{catmain}} or {{catmore}} tag to it? It just saves work for the team working on Wikipedia:Database reports/Uncategorized categories - and if you're creating a category, you probably know your way around the "local" category hierarchy much better than they do. The article Brendan McCaul has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on New York senior hurling team, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. (See section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Wikipedia has standards for the minimum necessary information to be included in short articles; you can see these at Wikipedia:Stub. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
  • It is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. (See section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Wikipedia has standards for the minimum necessary information to be included in short articles; you can see these at Wikipedia:Stub. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. -©2015 Compassionate727(Talk)(Contributions) 18:39, 20 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Oh crap, I've just looked further up this page and see that you were not notified that the article had been listed at WP:CP. I'm truly sorry, I should have re-listed it and notified you – that would have given you a week to rewrite the page or release the material to us (if you own it?). That's my bad mistake and I apologise for it. However, I do have to ask this: how is it that an experienced editor of your standing appears to be adding copyright violations to the project? I've just taken a quick look at Castledermot Round Tower, and it looks as if you copied it pretty much verbatim from http://roundtowers.org/castledermot/index.htm; that page is clearly marked "© 2004-2005 F.J. & K.D. Schorr". You do understand that that is against our copyright policy, right? Could there be more pages with similar copying? If so, your help in identifying them would be much appreciated. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 17:50, 14 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
    • Grange Castle was copied from Bermingham Castles of Ireland - which seems to be heavily plagiarised. As for Castledermot, i think i meant to change the text and combine it with a few others but must have forgot. it's fixed now. EamonnPKeane (talk) 13:15, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
One screw-up led to another with Grange Castle; I failed to check that you'd been notified, you failed to provide attribution for the content you had copied, as is required by our licence (that Bermingham page is very possibly a copyright violation, by the way, despite the discussion on the talk page). All in all, a mess and I apologise for it. As is normal practice when CorenSearchBot flags an article, I've looked at some of your other contributions. I wrote above "how is it that an experienced editor of your standing appears to be adding copyright violations to the project?" I am saddened to find that King Mesgegra's Mound, which you created after reading and replying to that question, also apparently contains copyright violations (see below) – or have I missed something there? If I should happen to find any further evidence of unacceptable copying, whether recent or not, I'm afraid I may need to ask for a complete copyright review of all your edits. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 17:56, 25 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I looked at several of your page creations on Irish topics. Sadly, I didn't find a single one without at least some copying. I've asked for an investigation (see below). Sorry, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 22:45, 25 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I've noticed your edits to the MST3K episode list, and it seems like you're trying to do a season-by-season listing. First of all, that should be agreed upon in the talk page for an article, not done all willy-nilly. Second, your edits, as constructive as they might be, are leading to a lot of confusion because it is disrupting a lot of the article. You are welcome to make your concerns and suggestions on the talk page for the list, but please stop making such drastic edits without popular consensus.Fireflyfanboy (talk) 03:07, 18 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Thanks for uploading File:The Sunday Business Post.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:2009–10 All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:2009–10 All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. Blocked for repeated copyright violations[edit]

Since the recent warnings and CCI request above, you have continued to violate Wikipedia's copyright policy -- including this flagrant copyvio restoration and this insertion of plot summaries copied from external websites (from [3]). Therefore:

Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without verifying permission. You have been previously warned that this is against policy, but have persisted.

Please take this opportunity to be sure you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to use non-free content. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

In order to continue editing, you must convince an administrator that you understand and will abide by Wikipedia's copyright policy. To do so, please follow the unblock instructions above. MER-C 20:45, 12 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

EamonnPKeane (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Apologies for the violations. I had thought that national anthem lyrics would count as fair use, and the episode summaries are released as press releases so I thought they would count too.

Decline reason:

Sorry, but you evidently still aren't familiar with our copyright policy even after being blocked: we can't publish whole song lyrics even under fair use and press releases are still copyrighted. Please familiarize yourself with WP:COPY and WP:NFCC. Max Semenik (talk) 18:36, 14 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

OK I accept that, I was unaware that press releases were copyrighted and I'll be more careful in future. I've read through WP:COPY and WP:NFCC. EamonnPKeane (talk) 14:53, 15 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I don't think what you are saying is sufficient. MER-C has described below some clear expections. HighInBC 21:22, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Responding from the #en-wikipedia-unblock channel. @MER-C: do you think that EamonnPKeane has expressed a sufficient understanding of copyright? HighInBC 00:47, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Comment I queried this editor's additions at 2.33pm on 3 December 2015. diff. He was actively editing at the time and for several hours after, but continued without even acknowledging my concerns. Four hours later I issued a copyvio warning: diff. Again, no response or acknowledgement, or even a "fuck you." This editor is concerned with one thing and one thing only: being on the list of active Wikipedians and to hell with your damned copyright. He knew what he was doing was wrong and unblocking now will just create more shit for someone else to shovel up afterwards. Why should the rest of us follow the rules when breaking them has no consequences? Keri (talk) 01:13, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Keri: I am far from finished with my review here. Perhaps you can withhold your judgement of the situation until it is complete? I do appreciate the relevant information, but the bit about no consequences is a bit premature. HighInBC 01:30, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Keri has a point. The lack of responsiveness and the general crappy state of this page are serious concerns that need to be addressed before unblocking. The above conversation gives me the feeling EamonnPKeane going through the motions and making the right noises in order to be unblocked and nothing more. A commitment to identify previous copying at Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations/20151212 as a condition of unblocking is a must. MER-C 13:24, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the info. I always like to make an informed decision. HighInBC 21:22, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
HighInBC, I imagine you'll already be aware of this, but just in case you aren't: the problem here is not limited to anthem lyrics, episode summaries and press releases as the user appears to believe. There's substantial and wide-ranging copying from both within and outside Wikipedia – please read my posts higher up this page at User talk:EamonnPKeane#September 2015 (the second section carrying that title) and my CCI request. Following on from what MER-C said, I see no reason why a complete list of all previous articles containing copied material (with sources) could not be compiled here, on this page, as a pre-condition to any possible unblock. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 00:20, 20 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

That makes sense to me. HighInBC 01:32, 20 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Evening all. Have had a look through all articles.
  • Hardy Bucks: episode summaries are derived from copyright sources.
  • Gallen Abbey: almost all needs to be deleted. Don't remember making this page, must have saved entirely the wrong draft.
  • Bermingham Castles of Ireland - I haven't touched this page but it's a mess, needs an editor's attention.

To Keri: I apologise for missing your comments, I should've paid more attention. I suppose I have a habit of ignoring problems in the hope that they'll go away. I have no interest in inflating my number of articles edited. I've mostly confined myself to editing articles or creating sport-related articles until recently. EamonnPKeane (talk) 18:48, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@HighInBC: @MER-C: @Justlettersandnumbers: "I suppose I have a habit of ignoring problems in the hope that they'll go away"... I guess that's a common - if annoying ;) - character trait. If you'll commit here to helping us go back through to double check - and fix - any copyvios I wouldn't oppose your return and assistance. Keri (talk) 19:04, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Brendan McCaul is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Proposed deletion of Coat of arms of Cocos (Keeling) Islands[edit]

The article Coat of arms of Cocos (Keeling) Islands has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:V – no evidence that the Cocos (Keeling) Islands actually have a coat of arms. The information in the article appears to be original research based on an interpretation of an anecdote from this webpage, which states that the coat of arms described is "probably the coat of arms of the Clunies-Ross Family".

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

Notice

The article Artemis Fowl: The Seventh Dwarf has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline requirement nor the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (books) supplementary essay. WP:BEFORE did not reveal any significant coverage on Gnews, Gbooks or Gscholar. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page here in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back through WP:ECHO or by leaving a note at User talk:Piotrus. Thank you.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Nenagh[edit]

Dear EamonnPKeane. You seem to be the person who added the pronunciation to the article Nenagh. Thank you very much for having done it. Before I saw your /ˈniːnæ/, I pronounced it ['ne:nax]. I would like to add your pronunciation to some other articles where the town is mentioned, but to do so I would need to add a citation for it. Where did you get this pronunciation from?
