Mis-statement of Success[edit]

The Cincinnati Mills property (Forest Fair) that was created by LJ Hooker is NOT successful, and has never really been so. It was recently sold from Simon Malls to another company, and is near closing for the 4th or 5th time since 1989. Not to mention the unfortunate name. On that note, perhaps someone might like to modify "L.J. Hooker went through a period of upheaval for a time" and expand appropriately. They've been in the papers recently, having sold the Gonzalez house. - Ta bu shi da yu 08:22, 7 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Criticism and Telemarketing[edit]

I removed this section because it has many unverified claims and weasel words (e.g. "widely regarded"). Language re Gonzales house is not to the standard expected of an encyclopedia article, not to mention spelling mistakes. There is also no such thing as a "murder house".

L.J. Hooker has come under heavy criticism and customer backlash for aggressive use of telemarketing to sell its product. Telemarketing is widely regarded as an unethical business practice in Australia.

L.J. Hooker was at the centre of the Gonzales House of Horrors sale, where an L.J. Hooker agent did not disclose to the purchaser that the house which they were buying was a murder house. The current vendor, his wife and daughter had been bludgeoned to death by their son in the house. Trust in the practices of agents has wained as a result.

June-August 2017 edits and reversions[edit]

This article seems to be subject to a slow edit war over the last couple of months. I stepped up and cleaned up a couple of the problems that were most obvious to me. They were about the style of the article (spelling, citation style, recentism).

@115.64.132.181, PinkAechFas, 2001:8003:8710:2900:7018:ee0f:85ba:de81, 101.166.160.213, and 210.48.104.152: I chose to engage in editing rather than to limit editing from IP editors. That means that I am now part of the discussion and can't be the one who might impose blocks later. I chose to do that as limiting edits to signed-in users only appeared to be a one-sided solution since there had not been any conversation yet. The next admin to wander by is unlikely to be so generous. Edit restrictions on the article or on the IPs and users are likely, so this is the chance to improve this article in accordance with all Wikipedia policies. Please read and follow policies and guidelines including Assume good faith, Conflict of interest and Neutral point of view.

The article as it stands right now needs more cited information about the history of the brand, particularly the expansion and collapse of the listed company. It does not need more external links to the company or its franchise holders, nor vague "works cited" that are not ascribed to particular sections of the article. Remember that this article is about the company and the brand, not about individual franchise offices, nor specifically about Leslie Joseph Hooker who has a separate article about the person. --Scott Davis Talk 14:10, 1 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Removing the banner under the International expansion heading about the lack of citations[edit]
