The Midland Bank working in Loughborough was still using Midland branding as long after as 1996-97.

Time for the mega HSBC to de-merge its UK business and restore its brand name and independence.

Significant errors in "1st 50 years" section[edit]

I have corrected all the dates (I think) in the first 50 years section based on the (archived) cited source. Some of the errors seem deliberate (reference to WW3 in 2030 when the cited article said WW1). Any further review would be appreciated.
