Layoff[edit]

Nullsoft sg it with recent restructuring and layoff news. This was then picked up by other news outlets (including p2pnet and slashdot), and propagated. At this time, no formal response has been made. Informally, I can confirm that no closure request has been made by aol.

What does "Nullsoft sg it with recent restructuring and layoff news." mean? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.74.217.54 (talkcontribs) 12:32, 22 November 2004

AOL[edit]

When did AOL buy Nullsoft? Might be good to have in the article. --217.74.217.54 12:32, 22 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Wesley Willis[edit]

"Winamp, it really whips the llama's ass!" Is a reference to the late schizophrenic singer Wesley Willis who would often say "KMFDM really whips the camel's ass" or whoever he was singing about. 68.223.79.35 05:40, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The recording was reportedly inspired by a comment on the original MacAmp forum by Kevin Kuperman, who recounts the story here http://ask.metafilter.com/24200/Should-I-start-using-iTunes#384932 at Metafilter.com, 19 September 2005. Kuperman states the MacAmp forum comment was his, inspired by the album "Fabian Road Warrior" by Wesley Willis. If and when this can be verified with other sources, it should go in the article. --Lexein 23:34, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nullsoft's demise[edit]

The news has nothing specific about Nullsoft. In the official WinAmp forum, http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=360236 an insider on "the WinAmp team" states "No, Winamp & SHOUTcast are safe". Waiting for RS to confirm/contradict that. --Lexein (talk) 06:43, 8 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

question[edit]

Should the shutdown of winamp website(s) the 20 december 2013 be mentioned here? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.229.36.10 (talk) 18:36, 17 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
