Convention of Kanagawa forced the opening of Japanese ports?

Why not just opening several (or the exact number) Japanese ports? Why the loaded forcing? Thought Wikipedia was supposed to be NPO, not pushing the view of Japanese nationalists of the ilk who started WWII in the Pacific. Jim_Lockhart (talk) 06:42, 31 March 2011 (UTC)

how did this event get on the mainpage?

"1910 – The six English towns of Burslem, Tunstall, Stoke-upon-Trent, Hanley, Fenton and Longton, amalgamated to form a single county borough." How on earth did this non-event get on the main page? Come to think of it, why is it even on the list of events for March 31st? Just Bizarre. Eiffel Tower date claim wrong

Many, many people of no note whatsoever

The quality of the list of births in this article is severely diminished by the inclusion of many, many people whose only reason for inclusion is that they happen to compete in some sport someplace in the world.

This problem afflicts especially those born most recently. Since 1976, all but two of the 76 births listed are of mostly obscure competitors.

Which is a shame. A list of truly notable persons would be interesting.

On the other hand, I just added the name of Johann Sebastian Bach (1685), who was for some reason not previously in the list of births. 2601:200:C000:1A0:A407:B2A:CC98:71C (talk) 14:52, 14 February 2021 (UTC)
