Gay Icon Project[edit]

In my effort to merge the now-deleted list from the article Gay icon to the Gay icons category, I have added this page to the category. I engaged in this effort as a "human script", adding everyone from the list to the category, bypassing the fact-checking stage. That is what I am relying on you to do. Please check the article Gay icon and make a judgment as to whether this person or group fits the category. Definitely 1946[edit]

I was having trouble finding any record of her under "Susan Lucci". So I tried under her husband's name, as there is a Susan Huber from Garden City, New York, born December 23, 1946.--Fallout boy 08:14, 10 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ancestry.com, which is subscription based. For something accessible, search here under "Susan Huber" and an entry from Garden City, NY, with a 1946-12-23 DOB comes up.

Also, this is the message left on my talk page by D'Amico: Susan Lucci appeared on the Jane Pauley show in 2005, and for the first time she publicly revealed her age, stating that she would be turning fifty-nine years old on her next birthday (which was in December of 2005). Susan has also stated for years that she was twenty-three years old when she landed the role of Erica Kane on AMC, which is how many people originally calculated her age (1970-23), forgetting that Lucci turned 23 in December, and AMC aired only days after her birthday. There was no way she could have landed a role after December 23, 1969, for a show that premiered on January 5, 1970.--Fallout boy 23:30, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Back in the day they didn't film the far in advance from the airdate. Even today the time from filming until air date is not that far in advance some (I have heard GH) are only about two to three weeks off. Also she could of meant she was 23 when the show came on the air.

Sorority affiliation[edit]

It is stated on IMDB.com that Lucci attended Marymount College in Tarrytown, New York, which was noted for its theater program, and graduated with a BFA in theater arts. One of the Categories that Lucci is listed in is [Category:Pi Beta Phi sisters]. Did Marymount have greek organizations? 68.88.228.118 15:43, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ethnicity?[edit]

He was Itialian, I know for a fact. When Susan was a small child and I being a few years older than she,I remember she use to come over to my (my Mom and dad's apartment) in Yonkers, NY we played jacks. She was with two people named Barry and Flo but I can't remember how they were related to her. I use to think she was related to me as a cousin, but I found out they were just best friends with my parents at the time. My parents told me they were Italian."We are Italians, When we say Italian sometimes we mean Italian but American born Italians. 1/16/2011 Bob G "rgrazioso"

Salary[edit]

I'm not sure why the "dubious" tag is needed, since the statement of "over $1 million a year" is correctly attributed to two reliable sources. One from back in 1991, and the other from 2007. This is also why I did not specify a year, and rather put "midway into her career"...because she was cited with the same figure after a large time gap, and I would think that her salary would have changed by now. Maybe 1991 is not exactly "midway into career," but, to me, it works better than saying "In 2007." I feel that the 2007 source is just going off of the salary that has been reported for her for years, as the public is unaware of any update on her salary. So, to answer your question, I don't believe that any specific information about her salary, other than "over $1 million a year," is out there. Most soap opera actors' salaries aren't event available out there on the Internet. The point is that these are reliable sources reporting "over $1 million a year," and therefore there shouldn't a "dubious" tag on the information. Not unless you're concerned, like I am, about the fact that we have no way of knowing her current salary. I worded the "over $1 million a year" bit in a way that shows a distant past because of that. And the only reason I included "over $1 million a year" at all is because simply stating that she is reportedly "the highest paid" seemed/seems inadequate. O'Neill uses the word "reputed" in his story for The Envelope, which questions the legitimacy of his own statement. There's only one source tagged to the salary figure in the wiki article now, though. What is the other source you mention in your post above? Also, O'Neill's story is from 2007 and does not specify when the $1m figure can be attributed to being Lucci's salary, only that as of 2007 it was likely that figure. Saying that the legitimacy of O'Neill's statement is questionable because he used the word "reputed" is your opinion. He used "reputed" because she has been reported to make that much. It's not like we know her salary for sure, as we have no access to her salary. Reliable sources state that she is reported to make that much, not that she "most certainly makes that much." And what do you mean there's only one source in the article that says she makes over $1 million a year? Did you overlook the fact that this 1991 The New York Times source has a Page 2? On Page 2, it clearly reports her as making over 1 million a year. There was no assuming she made $1m "midway into her career," since I was going off of what was reported back in 1991 and what the present time is now. That is why the text stated, "Midway into her career, her salary had been reported as over $1 million a year." Either way, your "dubious" tag does not belong because two reliable sources are simply saying that she is reported to make over $1 million a year...and that is exactly how I worded it in the lead.
