Merge proposal[edit]

Support; sources should be available online (peer-reviewed papers in NZ J Zoology/Proceedings Roy Soc NZ and/or Notornis). Dysmorodrepanis 19:22, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just suggested the merge because the australian pelican article says quote unquote "The bones were later described as a new (sub)species, Pelecanus (conspicillatus) novaezealandiae (Scarlett, 1966: "New Zealand Pelican") as they appeared to be larger, but Worthy (1998), reviewing new material, determined that they were not separable from the Australian population." I didn't really look for any articles about it.-Cynops 00:12, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Support. As it seems that the New Zealand Pelican was only a New Zealand population of the Australian pelican. --Melly42 14:09, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Support. For the same reason that Melly mentioned. Peter Maas\talk 07:41, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Support. Ditto, as long as it remains a seperate section. Rufous-crowned Sparrow 14:41, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
