Genus/family[edit]

I'm not convinced that the sheathbills are best described as a genus. They are a family with a single genus. Genera are a dime a dozen, while the sheathbills as a family are interesting as they are the only endemic family in Antarctica. Any thoughts? Sabine's Sunbird 22:38, 12 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Bird genera are indeed a dime a dozen. However, I don't understand what the problem is here. These two species are in the one monotypic genus of their family. - UtherSRG 14:09, May 13, 2005 (UTC)
It's been better worded since I made my comment. Sabine's Sunbird 15:09, 13 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Kelp[edit]

Kelp links here with "Kelp pigeon". Is this a common name for the bird? FireWorks 19:15, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
