Untitled[edit]

This page should probably be moved to Milk River because it spans not only Montana, but Alberta too. Earl Andrew 05:27, 19 Jun 2004 (UTC)

I agree that the title "Milk River (Montana)" is not a good idea. An alternative to replacing the disambig page at Milk River would be to move it to Milk River (Missouri) or Milk River (Missouri River). In geography, the usual way to distinguish rivers with the same names is by giving their destination. A river may span several countries or states, but it always has a unique outlet, so this convention makes things much easier. -- Chl 16:04, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Canadian drainage into the Gulf of Mexico[edit]

Note: I've edited the main article to correct a misunderstanding that although the Milk River is the only river in Canada that drains into the Gulf of Mexico, it is not the only watershed in Canada that drains into the Gulf. The Poplar River (Saskatchewan-Montana) watershed extends into Canada even if the river itself does not. Changed: "The small area drained by the Milk River in southern Alberta and southwestern Saskatchewan is the only area in Canada that drains into the Gulf of Mexico" to be "The small area drained by the Milk River in southern Alberta and southwestern Saskatchewan is one of two areas in Canada that drain into the Gulf of Mexico (The other being the Poplar River watershed which extends into Canada in Saskatchewan)." This may seem like a small point, but it may be important to someone writing a school paper. Dzubint 19:26, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Better map needed.[edit]

The current map does nothing to help (not me, at least). I still have little idea where this river is. Unschool 01:14, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
