Cleanup/major shortening[edit]
Okay, it's a huge edit (and a lot of deleting), so here's a quick summary:
- Two images were broken and removed.
- I'm not exactly sure what a "machine shortage" is: a shortage of votes? A shortage of machines? If someone could clarify, that would be great.
- Blank sections were removed; the rest of it was condensed into a single article.
- Several links were taken out as they are no longer valid.
- There are two blatant copyright violations that have been commented out.
- "No real explanation has been given" is in the wrong tense; a more pressing problem is the use of "real" explanation, which is evidently meant to contrast with "phony" explanation.
- There can be absolutely no source for the statement that "in all cases, the overvotes are heavily in George W. Bush's favor".
- I removed the template about Florida elections, although I wouldn't object too much if someone put it back in. My rationale is that this article does not discuss an actual election, but merely alleged irregularities in one.
- I scrapped the table. It was starting to become an indiscriminate collection of information; an entire table is not needed to get to the point, which is the total number of overvotes.
I think the article may now be ready for merging. I slapped a POV tag on it just in case, anyways -- it could probably still be considered a mess. theProject 04:48, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
