This is a troll. And it's a horrible page title. And it's the wrong city; he/she means York. Paul Tracy

  • Delete (there is a similar law in Chester for killing a welshman, but the title is plain silly!) AmyNelson 13:53, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Actually, there is an element of truth to this, but, as Paul said, they mean York. And it's only on Sundays.--MAdaXe 12:55, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • I took note of this, because it is one of those obscure laws that's never been repealed but as pointed out above, it's not Canterbury it's York, this is a horrible title so delete with impunity but I would like to know where the York and Chester laws are listed on wikipedia, and if there is a central article for obscure laws that have never been repealed (such as the law in Peterborough that taxi drivers must have a bale of hay in their cab at all times) -- Graham ☺ | Talk 13:00, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete but ensure the actual law is mentioned somewhere. (Archaic current English laws or somesuch. No redirect necessary from this title though. zoney talk 15:14, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete - but as said above, we should have an article on obscure un-repealed archaic laws. Note that most of these are not actual laws anymore, since they have been rendered void by a national repealing of such laws, even though they were never taken off the books locally. Thus, it's illegal to kill Scotsmen within the walls of whereever, kilt status notwithstanding. —Morven 21:46, Sep 23, 2004 (UTC)
