My friends, can your hearts stand the shocking facts about grave robbers from outer space?

Please don't ask me to vote in a deletion debate unless it's about an article that I started or put a lot of work into.

Please don't invite me into a Wikiproject; I am not interested.

This is a page for you to talk to me. Please feel free to leave a comment if you have anything you would like to talk about.

Baseketball or BASEketball[edit]

Hey, I noticed that you recently reverted the capitalisation that was introduced into the Inland Empire (film) article. This article was brought to my attention in a discussion regarding capitalisation of the film Baseketball, here. The debate is basically over whether the film should be referred to as Baseketball or BASEketball. I have tried explaining that standard English should be used, but I have been ignored and my move reverted, despite the fact that the film doesn't even use the unusual capitalisation itself (just large vs small typeface). I was going to start a discussion on this at WP:MOSTM or maybe WP:NC, but just thought I'd get a second opinion from someone who seems to have a similar understanding of said policies and guidelines. Is there something I am missing? Could this actually be a special case? Or does WP:MOSTM apply here as elsewhere. Thanks for your time. Nouse4aname (talk) 09:19, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Saturday Night Live: 1994-5 season question[edit]

Hi,

After poring through old additions to the "History of Saturday Night Live (1990-1995)" page, I believe I have it correctly figured out that you wrote the synopsis of the '94-5 season, in which this sentence was included:

However, the day that Garofalo arrived on the set, Adam Sandler started yelling at her because of remarks she had made against him in her standup routine. Fellow female cast members (Ellen Cleghorne and Laura Kightlinger) banded against her immediately.

There isn't a footnote or reference to how you obtained this information, and, as someone who has read countless stories about Garofalo's situation at SNL (told by both her and others) I have never heard any of that info about Cleghorne and Kightlinger and am very curious where you got it from. I am not in any way stating that you are wrong. It's just that I read all her excerpts in "Live from New York: An Oral History of SNL" as well as Fred Wolf and Jim Downey's rants against her; I read the 1995 behind the scenes New York Magazine article which had many sections about her, some of which are cited in your synopsis. But I have never read anything about Cleghorne or Kightlinger's take on her; nor have I read that Sandler yelled at her, only that he avoided her out of spite. Would you mind telling me how you got that info as I'm very interested? Thanks, Sam —Preceding unsigned comment added by Samweisberg (talkcontribs) 20:22, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright on Johnny Eck article[edit]

If you would like to be useful, try to be helpful with what needs to be altered rather than calling 'copyright infringement!' on a work-in-progress that is slowly morphing into an original document (compare what I've done to the copyrighted text--it is very quickly becoming totally different while recognizing where the facts originated). Hopefully, with help rather than useless deletions of very basic information, it can become acceptable to you. Please check the sources again (I'm not just reverting to copied text--there have been significant changes--even with added facts not in those sources) and compare the writing. If you think you could rewrite it while keeping the basic facts, but making it entirely different, do so. That was what I was doing until you killed the article.NileQT87 (talk) 18:05, 10 January 2009 (UTC)NileQT87[reply]

Deletion of content[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Dollar coin (United States). When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 14:15, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Heaven's Gate animal rights controversy[edit]

Hi Eric,

I have edited the Heaven's Gate article so that it less redundant about the animal rights controversy. I also changed the wording of a sentence which you questioned "proven by whom?". I changed references of "proof" to "accusations", "assertions", "claims", etc. I agree with you that it is difficult to say something was "proven", and it is better to use an alternative word to maintain a neutral point of view.

Please read the current revision and let me know if it all right to delete your note "by whom?"

Thank you very much!!! LA Movie Buff (talk) 20:42, 21 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tag-deletion[edit]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at European microstates, you will be blocked from editing. If you have a source supporting the claim you're welcome to add it and if you want to dispute the validity of the tag you can do so on the talk page, but simply removing the tag without providing any source is vandalism. Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello Branddobbe! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 941 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Reviewer[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Tiptoety talk 05:59, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I hate needing to put on my admin hat, but since you *had* the page open, it would have been just as easy for you to correct the issue instead of, well...snarking. Wikipedia's had an awkward/inaccurate line for several weeks as no one else had noticed that problem. File source problem with File:Street accordion player.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Street accordion player.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:36, 27 February 2011 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Musamies (talk) 02:36, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Vista, CA logo.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Vista, CA logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:11, 6 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Zentrifugal requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 19:38, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of List of typefaces[edit]

The article List of typefaces has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I have just come to the conclusion that this article is a mistake. It's impossible to list all the typefaces on Earth - or even the important ones - there are thousands. This is better dealt with by the typeface article, individual articles and by categories.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Notice

Tagged for notability since 2010. Only source is primary, coverage appears to be limited to user-generated forums, primary sources, and blogs. Not seeing a WP:GNG pass here.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
