Concerning Plautus[edit]

Curps, STOP IT. If you want to chronicle Plautus' activities, do it on your own page. What you're doing can't possibly have any effect except starting more fights. OK? Isomorphic 22:15, 19 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Plautus himself altered the heading (a habit of his) and added the birthdate listing. Considerably altering the tone of another person's original posting (another habit of his).
I thought it worthwhile to chronicle his activities because he's such a prolific poster that his original mischief from just a few days ago is already scrolling past 500 previous messages, and most people don't even bother to look past the last 50. Without documenting it people will wonder what all the fuss was about.
Ah, ok. Now I understand. It looked to me like you were baiting him. Anyway, anyone really curious about the fuss can look it up easilly enough. His talk page definitely isn't the place for what you were doing. People aren't free to do as they like with their own talk pages, but those pages are still, to some extent, theirs. It's a place to discuss things with that person, not to post for the benefit of third parties. I appreciate your sentiment though, as Plautus has been incredibly frustrating. One other minor point: it's traditional to archive comments instead of just deleting them from your talk page. You can just create a page called User talk:Curps/archive1.

Curps, I've been working on my own personal Plautus timeline to document the havok he caused in the Columbia shuttle accident pages. I'm gathering the links for the insults, revisions without comments, POV edits and general boorish behaviour. If you'd like to move the stuff you've started on Plautus' page to Timelines then you're welcome to. It's just a placeholder at this point but I'll stick stuff in there as time goes on. --SheikYerBooty 00:11, Feb 20, 2004 (UTC)

Curps, I apologize again for scolding you earlier. I didn't realize that Plautus had modified what you put there. I still feel that his talk page wasn't the best place for you to build a timeline, but I was unnecessarilly harsh because I didn't check closely to see what was your and what was his. I am not amused by his behavior, and I will no longer bother to defend him in any way. Whether he's a deliberate troll or a mental case, he's clearly on a fast track for a ban. Requests from Plautus satire[edit]

Curps, can I ask you to be a little bit less hostile toward me? And can I also ask you to stop being so condescending and mocking while you're describing my mistakes? I deserve the same benefit of the doubt as everyone else, and I would appreciate it if you would assume I made the mistake honestly, and not suggest otherwise. Thanks in advance, I am sure you will comply with this reasonable request. And thanks again for correcting that error about the laser broom, I read too fast and assumed by your tone with me that you were just being contrary, like the other members running the ban plautus page and publishing their "standing orders". Perhaps you fellows should be more private when you're announcing which entries you're "covering". - Plautus satire 01:23, 26 Feb 2004 (UTC)

I don't believe I am being hostile or condescending. I stand by the statement that you have on several occasions in the past cited external articles as support for your edits, which upon reading them turn out not to support your edits at all. - Curps 01:38, 26 Feb 2004 (UTC)
Show me an example, and one that I have not already admitted and apologized for. Then I will show you the numerous examples where you maliciously reversioned my pages in contravention of observable reality. It will be quite long, and probably quadruple the size of this page, and then some. - Plautus satire 16:02, 26 Feb 2004 (UTC)
I seem to recall the first case was when you wrote something like "quasars are ordinary stars" and cited an article that never even mentioned quasars. Obviously I disagree that some of what you write reflects "observable reality", and many others also disagree. You should not attribute this to malice. Curps 17:12, 26 Feb 2004 (UTC)
You seem to recall? Is that the best you can do? Forgive me, but your rebuttal here seems to be more than a little equivocal and flimsy. - Plautus satire 17:18, 26 Feb 2004 (UTC)
"I seem to recall" is a figure of speech. I do recall. Curps 17:51, 26 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing that ISS error, and thanks especially for redirecting that energy to create the laser broom article! :) I love articles on obscure technologies. :) Martin 01:33, 26 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Laser broom entry is a definite plus, thanks from me as well to Curps for both catching my mistake and creating the new entry for the factual information about laser/space weapons. - Plautus satire 16:03, 26 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Good News[edit]

Just thought I'd let you know - after a might slugfest on the mailing list (with some wanting him reformed and some wanting him permanently banned), Plautus has been temp-banned pending arbitration (at my suggestion). He is now harrassing Jimbo, so I don't think he'll get a favorable ruling. →Raul654 21:11, Feb 26, 2004 (UTC)

OK, thanks for keeping me posted. Curps 21:20, 26 Feb 2004 (UTC)
