This category has been abandoned, the current categorization is like this:
- Category:Aromatic compounds
- Category:Simple_aromatic_rings, fundamental non-polycyclic unsubstituted aromatic rings.
- Category:Basic_aromatic_rings, basic simple aromatic rings.
- Category:Polycyclic aromatic compounds, fused aromatic rings that can contain heteroatoms.
- Category:Simple_aromatic_rings, fundamental non-polycyclic unsubstituted aromatic rings.
Unfortunately, this change merely moved the problem one level higher; to Category:Hydrocarbons which had Category:Aromatic compounds as a subcat. As such, it has been reinstated as a category for compound containing only carbon and hydrogen and having unfused aromatic rings. Physchim62 (talk) 09:46, 26 November 2005 (UTC)
