Link referencing Jackson's autobiography Moon Walk is broken. Is there a discrete page concerning the book or is it just intended for the page to link to itself? 83.25.236.66 22:42, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What is the source stating that Michael Jackson didn't invent it, and if so, who did? According to his autobiography (which by the way isn't called "Moonwalk" but "Moonwalker"), Jackson developed the dance move in his own home after a good deal of experimentation. Later on I've seen an old "R'n'B" singer accusing Jackson of copying his "camel walk" in some TV documentary; but anyway Jackson's "moonwalk" isn't exactly the same thing as "camel walk", although it bears resemblance to it and to several other "old" dance moves. I think Jackson should be credited for inventing "his" version of moonwalk in the way he did. And by the way: who invented the name "moonwalk"? --Bab from the Esperanto Wikipedia

And also, I read in Mojo Magazine (December 2001) that "moonwalk" was one of the few dances protected by Copyright. How could Jackson copyright it if he didn't invent it?

You can copyright things that you did not invent. It depends on who patents it first, just look at Thomas Edison's lightbulb. Jaberwocky6669 02:36, Mar 9, 2005 (UTC)
