Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Battle of Chang Ban

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Not notable and/or fiction (at least as written) presented as fact. Only 140 hits for "Battle of Chang Ban" -xbox -ps2 -"Role Playing Game" -po, and they still all seem to refer to video game plots. Also note this name is not mentioned in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms article. Nor in the related, lengthy Zhuge Liang Guan Yu Liu Bei Cao Cao articles. The only article linking to this battle is Zhang Fei, which has enuf links to it that we finally may be to someone that exists outside a video game series, but two paragraphs of the article also appear in the description of the character of the video game series[1], so it seems likely this article has at a minimum been turned into a mix of reality and fiction. (If this article is deleted, the link from Zhang Fei should be removed.) Niteowlneils 02:25, 25 Jun 2004 (UTC)

This is all from Dynasty Warriors 4, a video game retelling of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Unfortunately, I don't know enough about the video game or the legend to fully disentange. We'll have to delete, unless we get someone who actually knows what happened there. [[User:Meelar|Meelar (talk)]] 16:39, 25 Jun 2004 (UTC)

  • Keep. This is notable and nonfiction. However the non-fictional part is not quite notable and the notable part is largely fictitious. Note that Romance of the Three Kingdoms is already a mix of reality and fiction, many young Chinese cannot separate the historal and fictional part in the novel. wshun 07:45, 26 Jun 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep, helpfully rewritten. -Sean Curtin 01:19, 28 Jun 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Separating fact from fiction, finding sources for history this old, and finding English references for this type of material will all be problems. Wikipedia has its work cut out. Worthwhile nonetheless :) Thesteve 07:10, 30 Jun 2004 (UTC)
