Huh? --NeuronExMachina 07:36, 7 Aug 2004 (UTC)

This page is very obviously written by a lindy hopper. If a ballroomer wrote it, it would be very different. I don't feel capable of writing a dance-neutral version but at very least, the "Lindy hop moves" list should be moved to Lindy Hop. Habj 17:26, 14 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Terminology[edit]

I am not an expert on dances other than swing dances, but I believe that the preferred term used by professionals is "dance step", or perhaps "dance figure". I am familiar with the terms used by Lindy Hoppers in the United States, where the term "dance move" has become common, but the more traditional dancers in that community (e.g. Frankie Manning, Ryan Francois) still use the term "dance step". I would be interested in hearing from ballroom dancers and ballet dancers (and other forms). I believe it is likely that this article should be moved. --Michael Richters 01:51, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
