I am seeking information regarding the antiaircraft artillery group in which my father, Robert Newton Wingo, served during WW II in Papua, New Guinea from 1941-1945. My mother, Dorothy Hall Wingo, was a WAC serving in the Signal Intelligence Service stationed in Hollandia where she met and married my father. She said his group was the 104th AntiAircraft Artillery Group but I had not been able to find any information until I saw this link.

My father passed away in 1990 and my mother passed away in 2003. I will be glad to share whatever I had gathered from her before her death. My e.ddress is clarsen1234@aol.com. Thank you - Christina Wingo Larsen

There was no 104th group, but there was a 104th battalion in New Guinea in 1943 and 1944, in Philippines 1945 and Japan 1946, but my source (a book) has nothing more to say. Stan 03:44 Apr 27, 2003 (UTC)
