I am unable to asertain why this page should be deleted, it is informative about the ambigious statement "Don't Stop" from and language point of view

Used in an ad

Yes, I'm sure it was used in an ad and sung by someone on a talent competition and performed by someone on a talk show and... whatever. These are trivial in the history of this song. Consider the song "Happy Birthday to You". We could spend day after day listing similar uses of the song. The result would be a long, useless trivia section of absolutely zero encyclopedic value. Instead, we generally use two criteria for inclusion of such information:

• We include released versions by notable artists (Non-notable Joe Blow releases it on a non-notable album? Don't include it. Notable Joe Blow releases it on a notable album? Include it.)
• We do not include unreleased performances and other uses of the song unless the performances/uses receive meaningful coverage in independent reliable sources. U2 performed the song a few times in concert but no one wrote about it (other than brief mentions)? Don't include. U2 performed it at "Live Aid" and the press did back-flips trying to explain the unusual song choice? Maybe include it. - SummerPhD (talk) 14:42, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

Totally agree on all points. There's no benefit to the article in adding random live versions, uses in the background in adverts, "it's the favourite song of Mr Random", or "it's used when Football Team X walk out on the pitch". Salience of Clinton comments?

An editor removed the link to http://www.c-spanvideo.org/clip/4459707 as trivial. While the addition may have been overdone, the link itself is to evidence of Bill Clinton speaking on the record about the importance of the song to his campaign (the transcript has him saying, "one of the things that really helped us was when not only had a narrative, but in the beginning we had a theme song"). This seems notable, germane to the significance of the song, and relevant to an encyclopedia entry on the subject. Cover versions

A "Nina Nesbitt Version" was recently added to the song page, including a single-track, digital-download "track listing". The song has been covered by many famous artists, and this does not meet the notability requirements. The rendition must be discussed by a reliable source on the subject of the song (not on the subject of the rendition, and the rendition itself must meet the notability requirement at WP:NSONGS. Information about this cover was folded into the "Cover versions" section. It would be unfortunate to having popular song pages diverted in the service of advertising. This may not apply in cases where a rendition meets notability requirements. Previous discussion regarding advertising use and live versions is relevant, as are covers by Elton John and others.
