No, not at all, that's the beauty of it. Consider if this was not the case; given the example of PABX and it's full term "Private branch exchange". Then, when writing about PABX systems, one would have to always use the full expansion. Since we have the "pipe trick", you need only link as [[Private branch exchange|PABX]], and that'll show up as PABX, and will act as if you have typed Private branch exchange. In Talk:Ben_Nevis, you wrote "cable car to Torlundy, 701 m ?" What do you mean by that?

Article Licensing[edit]

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "{{DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual}}" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to [[Wikipedia:Multi-licensing|multi-license]] all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
{{DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual}}

OR

Option 2

Question[edit]

Why do you keep bypassing redirects containing mathematical relation? Any reason in particular? There is nothing wrong with using redirects on Wikipedia, in some situations it actually makes sense. For example, if I want to refer to the Hahn decomposition theorem, I'd rather put a link to the redirect [[Hahn decomposition theorem]] than to [[signed measure|Hahn decomposition theorem]]. This because maybe in the future Hahn decomposition theorem will become its own article.
And let me answer also with a question. Why are you spending time bypassing those redirects? It is chasing the windmills if you ask me. Redirects are cheap. And if you do bypass them, please put a small "r" at [[Relation (mathematics)|mathematical relation]], as the way it is now it looks bad in the middle of sentence. Thanks. For the first in principle it could be changed back when the article is done for probably few? - For the second redirects are cheap in process time but we are supposed to do it for the very long term and to do what we can to maximize clearity in this jungle of links, in particular in matematics. It is very hard to change back things, and most people will not bother. And there is no jungle, redirects are a great way to go. Anyway, if you keep on bypassing redirects, don't forget about the small "R" business I mentioned.
By the way, a great way of helping the math project is checking the recent changes to the math articles from the list of mathematical topics. One can uncover vandals that way. Another useful thing is to visit Wikipedia:WikiProject Mathematics/Current activity and help polish new math articles. Yes but my main goal is for the wikipedia in Ido. So I will do only marginal changes to the English one (and look if some of the French one can be used) but I certainly wish that the maze is more graphically "grasping". Marc Venot 02:44, 15 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sharon and Caliban[edit]

Je ne connais pas Bruno Testa (et je suis domicilié à des milliers de km de la Réunion) mais je suis un lecteur assidu de ses éditoriaux dont j'en apprécie environ quatre sur cinq. Ce rapprochement littéraire me plait beaucoup mais j'admet qu'il est difficile à intégrer ici. C'est pourquoi il est désormais réservé à la version en ido. Battle of Dakar[edit]

During the nazi invasion France central bank's gold, along with the one of Poland it had in dépot, moved it to one of its best defended city in its colonies, Dakar. But of course it was another reason for de Gaulle to want to capture it. Marc Venot 08:00, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you are receiving this message, you are either a new, existing, or possible future press contact for one of the languages you speak. What does this mean, being a press contact?

The Wikimedia Foundation runs a Communications Committee, which co-ordinates requests for interviews from the press. When we receive a request for an interview, often the journalist wants to interview someone that speaks their "native tongue", or someone that lives in the same country as their publication. For this reason, it is important the the Communications Committee keeps an up-to-date log of contributors that they can trust to represent the community in a professional manner.

This list of press contacts has started to grow. The goal is to eventually have at least one trusted user on the list from every country in the world, and one user for every language that the Foundation runs a project in.

What are your responsibilities? Whenever a journalist requests an interview, either by phone, by e-mail, or (rarely) in person, you are able to either answer the interview request, or pass the request off to another user that you trust. Whenever a newsworthy milestone is reached on your project, you should help co-ordinate the creation of a press release, and once it's ready, send it to me to post in your language's press room.
