This is the wrong name. TOP is not usually the name given to the category of topological manifolds, this name is reserved by the majority of people for the category of topological SPACES. This should be changed and another link made for category of manifolds.

Hmm... I gave a reference for the usage I claim. It is a major work (Annals of Math series), 35 reference citations and 11 review citations in the MathSciNet database, etc.) Here's a second one: page 251 of Characteristic Classes by Milnor and Stasheff, also in the Annals of Math Studies series, one author a Fields Medalist, 72 reference citations in MathSciNet. On the other hand, MathSciNet also turns up a good number of papers which use the term in the sense you originally claimed. It looks to me like Top is used in your sense by point set topologists and in the sense I gave by geometric and differential topologists. I am therefore giving both meanings.Michael Larsen 01:46, 2 Oct 2003 (UTC)

Sorry for getting snappy. I guess I was a bit upset that the reference to "Top" as category of topological spaces was just removed as an "incorrect definition" when I knew it was standard usage among many people.
