  • Question: is this a post-secondary school (i.e. ages 18+), or is it the equivalent of a U.S. high school (sorry for my ignorance of the UK school system)?     • It appears to be a high-school equivalent. At least they mention GCSEs which I believe is an exam for 15/16 year-olds. Delete. —Rory ☺ 16:45, Oct 9, 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete: I used to work at a high school that was called a college. Usually, these schools are much older than the traditional public high school, so it's possible (likely, even) that this school is notable. However, the author did not present those claims and may not be aware of them. I'm not against high schools. I'm for notable ones. This could be, but we can't tell and weren't told.     • I can't find a dictionary that says it is. "Trying" would be the closest word, but "testing" would be the more appropriate in this context. If it survives deletion I'll copy-edit it. :) —Rory ☺ 20:25, Oct 9, 2004 (UTC)
      • "Trialling" may be a BE neologism -- it seems acceptable to my brain, anyway! -- Arwel 10:51, 10 Oct 2004 (UTC)
        • Depends how you define a neologism. The first use recorded in the Oxford English Dictionary is 1981. Incidentally, quite a few British secondary schools (and this undoubtedly is one) are called colleges. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with age.
