Regarding "Anti-Neo-nazi activism"; I've been in CISV for a few years and have never heard this to be a major stated goal. I mean sure, CISV ideals are at steep odds with Nazism, but I don't think the category tag is appropriate unless there's actually something in the article indicating such. -Joshuapaquin 18:26, Apr 30, 2005 (UTC)

Not Children's International Summer Villages anymore[edit]

At the last National Meeting, recently, the name of CISV has changed. It is now just the acronym, just 4 letters. There is no meaning anymore. This is because the participants are not mainly children anymore, some villages are held in winter now, and there are many other programs as well as village, so whoever is in charge of this should update this site.

Thanks for the tip. One of the rules of Wikipedia is that information must be verifiable elsewhere; right now I can't find a web site that talks about this name change. Do you have a link? We need to find a reference in order to change the article, especially since CISV.org still uses the full name. -Joshuapaquin 19:37, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

International links[edit]

It seems quite silly at this point to link to every national association. There are just too many of them to be practical; perhaps a single link to the National Association contact page at cisv.org would be better. Any objections? -Joshuapaquin 19:08, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Link to other languages[edit]

Joshua, do you know how I can actually just translate this page in French and link it ? I see some language in the left menu, but I don't know how to add French... Thanks, Jeff (Belgium)

Hi Jeff! I'm glad to hear you're willing to translate this article. Each language actually has a separate Wikipedia, so you'll want to start at the French version, fr.wikipedia.org. Check first to see if a French article already exists (I would, but I don't know what the organization is called in French), because it may be there and just not be linked to the English version.
Once the French article exists (even if it's just a couple of lines), please add [[fr:French article name]] to the English article to make a link. Then, add [[en:Children's International Summer Villages]] to the French article to link back to English.
Thanks again for offering to do this. You can reach me anytime by leaving a message at my user talk page. -Joshuapaquin 00:12, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
