I may be overstepping with posting this as an accuracy dispute, but...

  1. This is the sort of topic where I would expect to see at least one reference given. There are none.
  2. "It has been alleged" is very weaselly without any attribution. Apparently, it's being alleged by the article's author, but there should be an indication of an allegation outside of Wikipedia
  3. The way this is worded implies without quite stating that Gladio (on which we don't have an article) is an established fact and that it is only Column 88's involvement that is in question. That might even be the case; if so, the article make the statement in a more direct fashion (and, again, should cite sources).

  • I have added a reference and a link to the allegations to answer your first two points. I must agree with you on the 3rd one, and welcome anything that can be done to improve that side of the article. —Stormie 07:34, Jun 12, 2004 (UTC)

we got Gladio article -- (unsigned: this was User:FrankA 1 Feb 2005)

The Gladio ref is rubbish. It is first unreliably sourced and second confused as to whether this was somehow a security services effort to entrap neo-nazis or an effort to create a stay-behind army to fight the soviets. I am removing it. Capitalismojo (talk) 15:15, 3 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Uncited rumour[edit]

Cut: "The late former National Front and British National Party leader John Tyndall was rumoured to have once been a member." If there is a cite on this, indicating that someone even mildly authoritative makes this claim, cite it and restore. -- Jmabel | Talk 22:04, August 24, 2005 (UTC)

This article is complete rubbish. Here is a reliable source:

Column 88 did exist but it carried out no military operations. See also this quote from Hansard:

Why am I not surprised that this self-styled encyclopaedia includes so much of this Gable-eque crap?

Gladio[edit]

I've added a section about C88 being part of the Gladio network using two mainstream published printed sources and which sources IMO meet the Wikipedia criteria for reliable sources: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Identifying_reliable_sources Pavane7 (talk) 01:40, 17 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
