New Map

I'm sure it's okay to use it if we have permission from the people who hold the copyright. If you'd like to point out where it says that that's not acceptable I'll shut up, but why wouldn't we be able to use it if we have permission? bob rulz 01:18, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Image use policy says that images can be used with permission of the owner. The entity giving permissions must be listed in the image summary: "Permission: Who or what law or policy gives permission to post on Wikipedia with the selected image copyright tag". The image use policy does NOT say that copyrighted images cannot be used, only that they should not be used if certain copyright tags apply. Nor does it say that images must be licensed under GFDL; note that the GFDL article says that it can be used for "any text-based work". Vehicles?

Anyone have any info on the vehicles the UTA operates (who made them, size, carrying capacity, etc.)? --Jfruh (talk) 15:55, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

Perhaps the Siemens SD-100? Someone should check whether the information at www.lightrail.com[1] is correct as the website has been very well updated as of late. --Millbrooky 18:08, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

I don't know anything about light rail vehicles, but I ride TRAX every day and I know they use at least three or four different kinds, often mixed-and-matched on the same train. Aranhamo 16:16, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

Expansion

Any news on the purposed routes and completion date of the West Valley Transit Line? If so, are you willing to add the information to the wiki entry in a table similar to the Mid-Jordan Line with a list of stops? Well, I can dig through the Deseret Morning News archives to find the latest info. I think they're debating whether or not to include all 4 of the lines and the commuter rail extension as part of a sales tax hike deal instead of a property tax hike. I believe I remember reading that it was approved, but it may just be being discussed at the moment. I'll look into it. I don't think they have any specific info on the actual lines themselves, as they haven't been approved or anything like that. bob rulz 00:25, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

9400 S

The 9400 S line was supposed to open on August 26th, 2006 according to fliers at other TRAX stations, however it was still under construction on that day. It's open this morning, so it either opened late on the 26th, the 27th, or the morning of the 28th. Aranhamo 16:54, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

fares...

Someone added a fares section to the article, and it was promptly removed, without a reason. I think it should be included. Any thoughts to the contrary? Darkage7 (talk) 18:06, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Well imagine this: I'm a student trying to write a paper on mass transit, and want to talk about the different fares of various transit systems. It would be amazingly helpful to include this in an Encyclopedia. Also, if you look at Los Angeles County Metro Rail, Dallas Area Rapid Transit, or Bay Area Rapid Transit, and I'm sure many other transit system pages, they include the list of fares. Conflicting ridership numbers

The inset in the upper right hand says 40k/day, and the text in the first section (supported by link [6]) says 57k(60k)/day. Since the former number is supported by a more recent article, I suggest the latter be changed. Chriswblair (talk) 06:46, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Proximity Map

Someone added a proximity map to the Lines and Stations section, and I don't think it belongs. The article makes no mention of proximity to stations, and so a picture about it is just throwing in useless information. It's good that there is an image in that location, as it keeps the page visually appealing, but I think we should find something more relevant. ~~ DaRkAgE7 (talk) 12:08, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
