POV[edit]

Can we remove the citation from What's the Matter with Kansas? It has a clear negative POV. Caleiva 23:33, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I agree with the idea the comments included from "What's the matter with Kansas," contain a negative point of view. I don't think anyone would doubt that the area has its shortcomings, but a discussion on those shortcomings needs to be a bit more detailed than a quote from a book. I've changed this comment a bit, to incorporate Frank's comments, but I've also included some figures from other sources. OPIchabod 14:28, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Presidential election fact[edit]

I see the fact about Johnson County not supporting a democrat since Woodrow Wilson has been removed due to insufficient sources. I've verified this fact with a couple sources so I'm going to add it back. But as far as references go, I think I'm going to link the specific pages here on the talk page, because it seems a little obnoxious to list them all in the article since there are so many. I'll just list the main pages as references on the article. If anyone disagrees with that, let me know and i'll add all the refs to the article. Glitch in the info box[edit]

A bit sick here but to me it looks like the Infobox is showing the area in both miles and kilometers. It is showing the total, land, and water in both, but the metric land is more than the metric total. Kansas City, Missouri?[edit]

"Largely suburban, the county contains a number of suburbs of Kansas City, Missouri including Overland Park, the second most populous city in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area.[1] Its county seat is Olathe.[2]" This is what the article states, however Kansas City, MISSOURI is not part of Johnson County, KANSAS. They aren't even the same state. I'm sure this must've been an accidental typo. Can someone please fix this? The article is locked to other Wikipedians. As you can read in the history section or in any number of good history books on the Kansas City region, Overland Park developed as bedroom community (suburb) of Kansas City, Missouri along the Stange Line-a train designed to take commuters into downtown Kansas City. Today it is one of the largest cities in Kansas, as the populations of suburbs boomed nationwide after WWII. Today it largely retains the suburban trails single family housing, corporate campuses and car-centric transportation. No. I am brand new to Wikipedia and only made my account because I noticed this and live here. But I forgive you for your incorrect judgment of whoever you think I am. I just know that I don't live in Missouri and that's what it sounds like in this article. Historically you may be correct, however currently we aren't part of Missouri. With semi-protection on until 3/23/2021, I think it's prudent to have the "County government and unincorporated areas" elected officials and their terms updated. Specifically,

(Abbreviated as JOCO) Hey @Sbmeirow: I was the one who put the kck and kcmo abbreviations on their respective pages. I’m curious as to why Johnson county’s abbreviation is a problem but kck and kcmo isn’t a problem.
