"without a penny being paid for its contributions or an ounce of kudos lent to its contributors". Many would dispute the second part of that statement, with considerable kudos given to the project by its many supporters around the world. I think the responce misses the point of the assertion which is that none of the individual authors get any personal kudos.--JK the unwise 14:21, 18 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I think the huge amount of general kudos the project generates does equate to a little bit of personal kudos for all its editors, even if they aren't named individually (and sometimes they are - Wired featured profiles of several major editors earlier this year). And within the project, there's kudos aplenty, I often thank people for their work and congratulate them on good work, as do many others. So, although I do take your point, I think the journalist who wrote the article was wrong to imply that kudos to the project does not mean kudos for individual authors, so I'd stand by what I wrote originally. IMO, the THES doesn't go as far as actually praising the project - rather a journalistic examination. Lotsofissues 10:15, 19 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
