Urban Transport section: NPOV violation?[edit]

By putting the criticisms of his views last, this section seems to not-so-subtly violate NPOV. Perhaps the material could be re-worked to give a more balanced perspective. (I know that that is very often difficult if not impossible when dealing with controversial people or topics, however.) 66.234.220.195 (talk) 00:01, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

External links[edit]

Regarding my cleanup of the External links section [1]:

Since Cox has no official site about himself, I linked the profile. I didn't link to more than one profile per WP:ELMINOFFICIAL and because of redundancy of information.

Linking directly to his business sites is inappropriate per WP:ELNO#14, plus they are redundant given the profile links to them.

The heartland.org article is not about him.

I'm guessing that the cfte.org was added as some attempt to provide a different pov. It's not about him and the External links section should not be used to address pov concerns. --Ronz (talk) 02:36, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

In your edit summary you claimed that you deleted the external links for reasons of WP:EL and something else. Now you have moved the question here from your talk page. I checked both of your reasons and right on the WP:EL page were two reasons that clearly explained when it IS a good idea to post external links in the way that they were done. WP:ELYES and WP:ELOFFICIAL. I did not post any links to the list except the one to Demographia which was a redirect for the Wendall Cox page and not linked in the article as per WP:ELYES and WP:ELOFFICIAL but now I see that the Demographia redirect is poofed. I'm still waiting to hear if Demographia is a blocked site and/or if that applies to the Cox article even if it is blocked. Because the block was in response to an (as far as i know) unrelated question about spamming.24.0.133.234 (talk) 03:04, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
WP:ELNO says "Except for a link to an official page of the article's subject,,[4] one should generally avoid providing external links to:"...........24.0.133.234 (talk) 03:07, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Also, none of the three mentioned companies were linked in the article. I'm not so sure about "content for which the subject is notable" because all three sites looked the same to me but with different topics, so maybe they should not be mentioned in the article? I'm still not 100% convinced that the Demographia data is spam. Official links
Shortcut: WP:ELOFFICIAL

An official link is a link to a website or other Internet service that meets both of the following criteria:

The linked content is controlled by the subject (organization or individual person) of the Wikipedia article.

The linked content primarily covers the area for which the subject of the article is notable.

Once again, see WP:ELMINOFFICIAL. --Ronz (talk) 03:42, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
