Exclusive Economic Zone[edit]

The intro describes the island's exclusive economic zone overlapping that of Europa Island. But the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea is pretty clear that this type of island wouldn't qualify for an exclusive economic zone. Writing that directly in the article would be original research, and against the guidelines of Wikipedia, but it does suggest that the claim about the exclusive economic zone needs to be sourced or possibly removed. If reliable sources say that France does claim an EEZ there, it should probably make clear that it's a questionable claim. GeoEvan (talk) 22:18, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
