This user seems incredibly arrogant and seems to enjoy selectively editing and vandalizing my article on Jean-Marc Fournier. He is an audacious prick, so please avoid him if at all possible. --24.200.155.103 02:46, 28 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Well vandalism is vandalism, but I must admit you corrected your work in Fournier's page. --Astrowob 04:34, 28 Mar 2005 (UTC)

You seem to be incredibly dense, going so far as to carry my IP to the vandalism page. The last act of a desperate man. You are one notch shy of pathetic. I look forward to seeing what you manage to do to push yourself over the edge. --24.200.155.103 04:32, 28 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Hey astro, there were many interesting facts that 69.157.68.19 put up(on 24 march...etc) would you mind putting it back? --202.156.2.170 05:21, 3 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Do you mind being more clear? except for reverting the cutting of the end of the text you did I did not change 69.157.68.19's changes... and please sign your messages --Astrowob 05:38, 3 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Whats wrong with you?whgat wrong have i done except to delete some common (which doesnt change the text and to insert the time of death of the pope.YOu blocked me.you are clearly abusing your authority. the only thing i asked you to do was to help to edit the page cause it was incomplete .now what have i got in return for some supposedly "vadalism by me" --202.156.2.170 05:57, 3 Apr 2005 (UTC) now that you have blocked me how can i post and my username also gets block .i respect admin as the authority but please do not abuse your authority by blocking people for "vandalism "which they have not committed/.

and to repeat summarise what i had said earlier, I DID NOT delete text from the passage except deleting some commas to insert the time of death of the holy father. and i get blocked --202.156.2.170 06:00, 3 Apr 2005 (UTC)

somehow my account got unblocked.thanks to whoever you are astro in case you misunderstood, i did not delete text in the page. what i saw was incomplete text which i asked for a completion of it by you.and what i did was just deleting commas to put relevent text.wikipedia is indeed driving me nuts... --Sghan 06:14, 3 Apr 2005 (UTC)take care

Just to make it VERY clear, I am NOT an admin and therefore did not block anyone at anytime, i'm sorry for you if you think you have been blocked without a good reason, but it is clearly NOT my doing. If you change a text in the future insure that what you do does not do drastic changes to the original text and I am sure the REAL admin won't block you again. --Astrowob 15:35, 3 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Deletion of Image:DS9DVD1-7.jpg[edit]

I put Image:DS9DVD1-7.jpg up for deletion since I found a larger image (also from amazon...not sure how you didn't stuble across it) and made the name less cryptic. Cburnett 03:33, Apr 16, 2005 (UTC)

I just wanted to save disk space, my actual image is yours but reduced in Photoshop to your specified 280px which I find esthetically pleasing after all, good team work (thanks for doing TNG) --Astrowob 03:35, 16 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Disk space is pretty much a non-issue from what I read. It's primarily the processing and memory (most of the pages are cached in memory) that are in short supply. Though I try to keep things reasonable, 35 KB vs. 15 KB isn't worth fretting over. Cburnett 03:37, Apr 16, 2005 (UTC)
Ok weel if the bigger image looks better I see no problem putting it then (I would just worry about the loading time for slow modems). I did TOS, but with a 280px since I had alredy made the image, but there is also the full picture in backup if you prefer. Have a look : List of Star Trek: TOS episodes--Astrowob 03:48, 16 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Well, having two images (one original and one scaled) means you're taking up more space than if you just had the original. :) Also, if you scale an image down (ala [[Image:TOSDVD1-3.jpg|280px]] then the user only downloads a scaled version (it's not the full image scaled in your browser....it's an actual scaled image. It's really, um, pointless to scale down images (unless they're amazingly huge) since WP automagically keeps cached the smaller, auto-generated images. Cburnett 03:54, Apr 16, 2005 (UTC)
Ok thanks, I didn't know that, used to be a webmaster and to worry about my page being more than 30kb (in the 90s) cheers ;) --Astrowob 03:59, 16 Apr 2005 (UTC)

papal infobox[edit]

why did you change the infobox for popes without agreement? The one in place was widely liked. The one you replaced it with is dreadful? FearÉIREANN 21:31, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Could you indicate what change you say I did? I did put some infoboxes on may popes page, but I only put the Template:Infobox pope that was disponible at the time I put them. I DID NOT alter the Template:Infobox pope at ANY TIME therefore if someone wanted to make changes to it all the popes page would change (except the first few I did which were with the complete code of the infobox instead of the template following what had been done on other pages). So, before accusing me of anything like this could you at least accuse with a good description of what you are accusing me? --Astrowob 14:31, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)

My humbliest apologies, Astro. I have having technical difficulty accessing some pages. In the absence of access to here I presumed that a superior box was being replaced by a new inferior template. Once I stopped getting the error messages (God I hate wikipedia error messages!) I saw that I was wrong. I intended to withdraw my comments but forgot. It was only when I was lying in bed that I realised I had not paid my planned visit back to your page. My sincere apologies, FearÉIREANN 19:26, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)

FYI - I really liked the new Pope Infobox so I have proposed that it be used for all religious leades on Infobox policy. There have been no objections so far (since Friday). If that continues I plan on helping to update the articles for the new Infobox. If you have comments, concerns please discuss there Trödel|talk 17:37, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:David Florida Laboratory.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:David Florida Laboratory.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 08:02, 10 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you.

A request for assistance[edit]

Would you support the concept of moving the Earhart "myths" to a separate page or article? The reason for my suggesting this is that the main article should be an accurate and scholarly work while the speculation and conspiracy theories surrounding the disappearance of Amelia Earhart are interesting, they belong in a unique section. Most researchers, as you know, discount the many theories and speculation that has arisen in the years following her last flight. Go onto the Earhart discussion page and register your vote/comments...and a Happy New Year to you as well. Bzuk 03:02 3 January 2007 (UTC).

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Star Trek TAS 1.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Star Trek TAS 1.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Non-free use disputed for Image:IATA.png[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:IATA.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:16, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Star Trek I.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Star Trek I.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:48, 27 July 2007 (UTC). Fair use rationale for Image:Star Trek I.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Star Trek I.jpg. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.
