I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use {{gfdl}} if you release it under the GNU Free Documentation License, {{PD-self}} if you wish to release your own work to the public domain, {{fairuse}} if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know at my talk page where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Mtnbox

The edits have cleaned up the code and simplified the infoboxes considerably. They have also standardised their appearance with the default skin. How exactly are they more difficult to read? ed g2s • talk 00:07, 9 August 2005 (UTC)

By "the different sections" I assume you mean the left and right columns. They are separated by a largish gap and the fact that the left column is bold. With tabular data it is not usual to put a colon after a column heading, as you would if it were a free-flowing list. Although the previous version, with the coloured column, was more clear in this respect, it doesn't mean the new version isn't, as it hasn't been a problem on all the other infoboxes it's been used on. ed g2s • talk 00:20, 9 August 2005 (UTC)

Indeed it is not policy, but then there is no written policy on how a box around an image should look, but when the software started using the "thumb tright" class on thumbnails, this became standard. The reason for changing it is that it looks competely out of place next to all the other infoboxes, navigational boxes, image boxes, menu boxes and document frame box. Ugly Gray Template & Info boxes

If you have not created the image yourself then you need to indicate why we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies under Wikipedia's fair use guidelines, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you want the image to be deleted, tag it as {{db-unksource}}.

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:John H. Chapman.jpeg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
