Updates and what have you[edit]

DECEMBER 28 2004 I've taken out some of the linked subjects as most really aren't necessary. I don't think anybody here needs to know what "walls" are or what a "roof" is or even a "courtyard" (did'nt take that one out yet, but I'm leaning towards it). Water run-off stays for the time being, but probably not for long as there is a better term for the term I'm describing. FEBRUARY 20 2005 It's been a year and a bit and I've been neglectful, which blows because I'm now a little bit more educated on the topic. Excavation notes have been added. A little more elaboration on what was found is coming up and a bibliography too. If anyone has any infomormation on any excavations done by someone other then Mellaart, please contribute. There's not nearly as much information on Hacilar on the net as say Catal Hoyuk, so any help is appreciated. Also a graphic will be added, a map with the location perhaps as there is no picture of the excavation that I can find :(

Coordinate error[edit]

{{geodata-check}}

The following coordinate fixes are needed for

The coordinates are not correct, the true position of the archaeological site is c. 1 km W. of Hacilar village, not c. 2 km to the NE.

thelios2006@yahoo.gr

Error confirmed: I've confirmed that you are correct about them not being NE of the village and that they are to the West — actually, Westsouthwest, probably based on a map included with one of the excavation reports — but I've not been able to locate them well enough to provide new coordinates. I'm going to remove the existing coordinates (which were bot-added) and continue looking for more accurate information. — TransporterMan (TALK) 19:31, 6 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The photos from the excavation reports and the description of the location would seem to put them somewhere around here: 37°34′41″N 30°04′59″E / 37.578163°N 30.083131°E / 37.578163; 30.083131, but I cannot seem to spot an exact location. There are some pits just to the west of those coordinates, but those seem to be too close to the river according to the excavation report (which says that the village is 1.5 km away and the river 1 km away) and appear from the satellite maps to more likely be gravel pits. Perhaps someone can find a better source. — TransporterMan (TALK) 20:03, 6 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Since no one else has been able to find coords (the geodata-check tags are ordinarily resolved very quickly, if it is possible to do so), I have restored the {{Coord missing}} tag on the article to put it into the list of articles needing coordinates. — TransporterMan (TALK) 13:00, 8 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
