Hello, welcome to Wikipedia. Here's some tips:

  • You can introduce yourself on the new users page.
  • You can sign your name using three tildes, like ~~~. If you use four, you can add a datestamp too.
  • Remember to use the show preview button before you save a page.
  • If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page.

Other useful pages are: how to edit, how to write a great article, naming conventions, manual of style and the Wikipedia policies.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Angela. 22:49, Apr 6, 2004 (UTC)

Debian stuff on the Free Software page[edit]

The main point that I was trying to preserve is that the 7.5K package count means source packages, not binary packages, because license-wise, the source packages are what matters. It is probable that the source package count increased since 2003, but I doubt it was by three thousand...

In the context of free software, the OS kernels that Debian supports aren't really necessary to list, and that also opens the Pandora's box: some are better supported, some are worse, some are significant, some are not, some have this FS license, some have that FS license... I think it's better to let such things exist on the Debian page which is duly linked from Free software. If someone wants to know more, they'll click through. --Shallot 09:09, 7 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Same gnome[edit]

I didn't really mean to suggest that you were odd :). I actually quite understand the phone non/phone distinction, but I figured it didn't really belong. Anyway, welcome to Wikipedia, hope you're having fun! moink 15:11, 8 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Image:Mercy12K.JPG[edit]

Hi there! Thanks for adding the image Image:Mercy12K.JPG. It currently doesn't have an image copyright tag, and I was hoping that you would add one as untagged images may be deleted eventually. (You can use {{gfdl}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{fairuse}} if you claim fair use, etc.) Thanks! --Diberri | Talk 17:58, Sep 1, 2004 (UTC)

Same Gnome[edit]

A "{{prod}}" template has been added to the article Same Gnome, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but yours may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
