Image copyright issue[edit]

Hello. We've had an email complaint (via Jimbo) about the copyright status of an image you uploaded: Image:ABQ fall skyline.jpg. From what you say on the image page, I understand you got it from City of Albuquerque web page and so thought it was public domain. However, it seems they got it from an image agency and don't own the copyright. I've listed it for deletion, but please let me know if there was another source and more information. Thanks -- sannse (talk) 20:34, 31 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Did you mean to put:

"West Side Strategic Plane"

PLANE:

  • 1 a : to make smooth or even : LEVEL b : to make smooth or even by use of a plane
  • 2 : to remove by planing -- often used with away or off

or

PLAN:

  • 1 : a drawing or diagram drawn on a plane: as a : a top or horizontal view of an object b : a large-scale map of a small area
  • 2 a : a method for achieving an end b : an often customary method of doing something : PROCEDURE c : a detailed formulation of a program of action d : GOAL, AIM
  • 3 : an orderly arrangement of parts of an overall design or objective
  • 4 : a detailed program (as for payment or the provision of some service) <pension plan>

????

Okay, I tweaked the article in regards to the Rio Grande. I hope that this ends this debate with whoever the other parties were, (User:Dpr and others). WikiDon 17:57, 3 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

PNM[edit]

I was wondering why you moved the disambiguation page and replaced it with the AZ utility. It doesn't strike me as the overwhelmingly main use (for example, while it is the first hit on google, it's only three of the first ten and one of the top 5 hits. Pitting corrosion[edit]

I expanded the pitting corrosion article. You may like to take a critical look. Do you happen to have some corrosion-related images, or can you make some, please? --Shaddack 00:53, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Railrunner logo.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Railrunner logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 01:58, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Nmtlogo.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Nmtlogo.gif. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 07:26, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

From Voceditenore[edit]

Hi Sammo. I see you're rather an old hand on Wikipedia, but since you'll probably be editing in a new topic area this time around, this is just to let you know that I've written some advice for past students in your class at Longy which you might find helpful. You'll find it here. If you need help, ask me on my talk page (User talk:Voceditenore), or place {{helpme}} here on your talk page, ask your question, and another editor will come along to help. Another resource is Wikipedia's Teahouse which provides great support for editors. You can ask questions (no question is too basic) and get helpful answers and advice from experienced editors.

You might also be interested in WikiProject Classical music, WikiProject Composers, and WikiProject Opera. They have various guidelines for articles in these areas and talk pages where you can ask advice from editors experienced in writing articles on classical music and related subjects. You'll find these guides particularly useful: WikiProject Composers: Guide to online research and WikiProject Composers: Copyright guidelines. Happy editing and best wishes, Voceditenore (talk) 01:20, 21 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for April 29[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Symphony for Organ and Orchestra (Copland), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Berlin Symphony Orchestra (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
