"Russell Lee and his team of ghost writers were the authors of True Singapore Ghost Stories". Is that a deliberate pun? --Henrygb 17:55, 9 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • No. They actually are a team of writers who prefer to remain anonymous (though two of them have already revealed their names).

Russell Lee is actually a pseudonym[edit]

It is widely believed that the name Russell Lee is a pseudonym no different from the other pseudonyms from the likes of Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys' authors.

Despite the decades of masked public appearance and how implausibly difficult it is to go in public and never get his real identity exposed in a small, densely populated country like Singapore with cameras all over... no one seemed to be able to know his "true name" and "face", nor even bother to dig out and investigate the company's founders and employees.

What is most likely is that the writers are all collectively Russell Lee, and someone was hired to put on a mask and sign books in public each time. And hence the update to the article that previously before seemed to make Russell Lee sound like a real, actual individual. 116.89.5.53 (talk) 14:59, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
