Spinsane[edit]

A "leader of the longest running ASCII art group, Remorse 1981"--yet +Spinsane "Remorse 1981" gets 6 google hits. No evidence of notability. Meelar (talk) 21:45, Oct 17, 2004 (UTC)

• Keep. While this page certainly does need work, I must fault you for not using a broad enough search. Since you think Google is the authority on whats important, a plain and simple search for "Spinsane" yields 766 hits. The name is unique; virtually of the hits are attributed to the exact same individual. Radman1 (talk) 15:34, Oct 17, 2004 (PST)
• To quote another member of Wikipedia: "Fusajiro Yamauchi" only has 968 hits on Google, while "Mark David Chapman" has 18,300. Therefore, we should delete the history of the founder of Nintendo, since he's obviously 1/18th as important in history as the assassin of John Lennon." Brilliant logic! Radman1 (talk) 15:46, Oct 17, 2004 (PST)
• That's an idiotic argument since a great many references to Fusajiro Yamauchi's name will not usually rendered in western scripts. Vanity. Delete. GWO
• GWO, I think you failed to notice the irony in Radman1's comment. It simply means: Following the reasoning in Meelar's statements would render every article with only a few hits in google unnecessary. But then again, why would we need an entry in wikipedia if so many hits lead to other sources of information? No vote though (since I'm not accustomed to the procedures here)[ChaosCom]
• Google hits might show the importance inversely proportional - The less info you might find about something, the more you should provide (which is Wiki's purpose basically). No vote. (Dunno much about the subject really.) Gargaj 15:05, 22 Oct 2004 (UTC)
• According to Radman1's user page, his email address is radman (at) acid (dot) org. This page is vanity, delete. RickK
• I stand by this article as a biographical text and work in progress. Being quite familiar with "What Wikipedia is Not" I feel this article more than qualifies to be here and am curious where others draw the line between this and "vanity". By Meelar's silly little metric, 766 google hits ought to be more than enough. Radman1 (talk) 22:34, Oct 17, 2004 (PST)
• I'd just like to note that this listing was not intended as a personal attack, and I'd appreciate if you wouldn't make them in return. Meelar (talk) 05:39, Oct 18, 2004 (UTC)
• I am at a loss for words to understand how such a hardened veteran of the Wikipedia as Meelar would quiver his lower lip at the disagreement of his self-styled brilliant moves. Current theories ascribe to the pressure of his double major. --Jscott 05:42, 18 Oct 2004 (UTC)
• Personal attacks will get you blocked from editing. If you can't make constructive comments, maybe you shouldn't comment at all. RickK 07:03, Oct 18, 2004 (UTC)
• Do not delete, I've been a fan of his radio show and I find him to be a fascinating figure in the history of networked art communities. InspiredChaos 6:05, 18 Oct 2004 (UTC)
• Keep This page is very useful in that it gives historical information about who this person is, and what his involvement is in the ansi/ascii art scene in the past and present. Eto 23:32, 17 Oct 2004 (PST)
• Yet again another sockpuppet. RickK 07:02, Oct 18, 2004 (UTC)
• Hm, just because I haven't submitted much, and have only submitted info for PabloDraw, doesn't mean that I'm the same person.. Unfortunately, there isn't much I can do to validate my claim of individuality.. hehe (: Eto 00:28, 18 Oct 2004 (PST)

• Keep Delete, this is below the notability line, perhaps deserves a mention wherever the Remorse 1981 info ends up After a little more in depth research seems like we should include an article about this guy. siroχo 21:43, Oct 18, 2004 (UTC)

Del. "longest running ASCII art group" qualifies for Guiness & WikiRecords but is close to proof of NON-notability. --Jerzy(t) 11:52, 2004 Oct 22 (UTC)
