Isn't the fact that it was noted that "members of these groups reject this term, finding it to be derisive" let it go without saying that it is, to them at least, a perjorative term?

It should not be taken for granted that people would find a negative connotation in a religious affiliation named after a man instead of God. Members of the church of Christ see through this, but what about Lutherans, Wesleyans, etc.? They seem to enjoy being called by a man's name rather than God's. (perjorative is actually "pejorative," btw)
