New Colors & Rebranding[edit]

How do you change the colors associated with Miami Marlins pages? We may wanna change the color scheme used, and the new stuff is being unveiled in a few days.-DANO- (talk) 23:30, 10 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

There are people who know how to do it, and they'll change it once the official announcement is made, but not before. - BilCat (talk) 23:55, 10 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
They already dropped orange, and replaced it with red. And changed to another blue. Can we at least update that?-DANO- (talk) 03:51, 12 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No, as it's not official yet. We can be be patient, as they'll announce it when they're ready. I've seen enough premature announcements that turned out to be wrong or partially incorrect to prove that Wikipedia is not a Crystal Ball is good policy. - BilCat (talk) 05:10, 12 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'm looking at the Miami Marlins' website right now. It does not look like they have changed their logo or color scheme just yet. Either myself, Corkythehornetfan, Y2kcrazyjoker4, DaveTheBrave, or another editor who knows how to change the color codes at Module:Sports color/baseball will change the color codes once the team officially unveils its new logo and color scheme. I don't know when that will be. We will all need to be patient and wait for that happen. Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 19:11, 12 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Dshibshm: Actually, it looks like the Miami Marlins will publicly unveil their new team logo and color scheme on Thursday, November 15, per the team's Twitter account. Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 19:36, 12 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Concur. Right now they are just teasing to build up anticipation until the official release, according to this. The official announcement will be on Thursday, Nov 15. - BilCat (talk) 19:40, 12 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Dshibshm: Please wait until November 15th to change anything, or at least continue to discuss it before changing the information in the infobox. I believe everyone here is in agreement, except you?, to wait until an official announcement. Corky 22:55, 12 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

New Colors & Rebranding 2[edit]

Can we change the template?-DANO- (talk) 03:19, 16 November 2018 (UTC) Need to update colors of this template to caliente red, Miami blue, midnight black, slate grey.-DANO- (talk) 00:06, 16 November 2018 (UTC)-DANO- (talk) 03:19, 16 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Dshibshm: This is now  Done. I have now updated the HTML color codes at Module:Sports color/baseball and at the main Miami Marlins article. Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 07:32, 16 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a reason the pants for the blue alternate jersey are blue? Haven't seen any indication of blue pants in their new uniforms. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:A601:43A3:B500:A548:5383:9657:13F1 (talk) 03:14, 16 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Jose Fernandez[edit]

If the #16 of Jose Fernandez has yet to be officially retired, as per the text in the body of the article, should his #16 be included in the retired numbers section of the infobox? Echoedmyron (talk) 14:40, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It is not officially retired, per this. I will edit the article as needed to reflect. StrikerforceTalk 15:03, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Makes sense to me. But what about the infobox, where the retired numbers parameter has been showing both 16 for Fernandez and 42 for Jackie Robinson? I suspect that well-meaning editors will no doubt reinstate the 16, mind you, even if a hidden note instruction gets added. Echoedmyron (talk) 15:13, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I've fixed the info box and added a hidden note. I think that you're probably right about well-meaning editors that will attempt to reinstate it, but we'll see. StrikerforceTalk 15:46, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I am not seeing that typo. Please provide more context where it is. RudolfRed (talk) 01:18, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Done assuming you mean this. JTP (talkcontribs) 01:59, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I can understand the confusion as it seams the means of locating text may be easier than what may have been encountered in the past. I have always found that the best way to indicate where the viewer needs to be in an article is to do a "" search its appearance can be only there. Mind you i address typos only and not matters of grammar. That way much more than what needs to be found needs to be provided and a "" search limits the hits. Also, when searching for typos all of WP and its parts of an article are subject to review and not only what is commonly viewed or read. I hope that may help in future for locating what is in question. The major reason for "" searching of typos is that what is readible may not be what is in the text as coding may be incorrectly inserted that divides characters of words. I hope that is helpful. Maybe WP can include in its technical abilities making typo corrections to protected articles for those of us IP editors that are not out to vandalized?2603:8000:D300:3650:38:CB92:6F1E:BE1F (talk) 03:05, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Well, you could create an account. – Muboshgu (talk) 03:35, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not to be confrontational but why be so compelled to register a username. And as the punctuation implies it is more a statement than question so no need to answer. Remember everyone here is not for the same desire.2603:8000:D300:3650:38:CB92:6F1E:BE1F (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 04:41, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
