The term PAV is actually a verb. It is used to describe the act of seriously playing a video game such as this example. I totally forgot to eat supper because I was busy paving it up and lost track of time. It since then has branched out to be a noun one that denotes a person who plays a lot of video games. He is a pav. It can also be used as an adjective to say that someone is really pavish. The word came into use around the time the playstation was released. In its first incarnation it was only used to describe the act of playing video games, or someone who played a lot of them. Since then it has been widely acceptable to use the term to describe various other activities such as role-playing. Pav is pronounced as have not pave. Hopefully that clears all the confusion up.
