I try to be fair, but sometimes my biases may creep in. In the interests of full disclosure, I'll list them here, but I hope that you will find that I've succeeded at being fair, even when I have a personal interest.

  • I was once a Libertarian, in the american sense of the word. I am not any longer, and the philosophy involved now leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
  • I never was an Objectivist, and find the philosophy involved particularly loathsome.
  • I am very liberal. I sympathise strongly with liberal flavours of Communism, e.g. Eurocommunism and Trotskyism, but have a somewhat different hope for society.
  • I am very much into green issues. I support Greenpeace and, to a lesser degree, Earth First
  • I am, definitionally, an American, but do not choose to identify as such
  • I have a complex set of ideas on Multiculturalism
  • I am an atheist that finds religion interesting (from a distance)
  • I feel that one of the longest-lasting and most tragic themes in history is that of the mass exploitation of one people by another for economic purposes, whether called colonialism, slavery, or other things.
