Official website[edit]

Dear Yamla et al. Abi's official site is totallytitmuss.com. Why does it keep being removed from the front page? Would it help if I got Abi herself to telephone you and tell you its hers?

I did not post the above comment, but I would like to ask this Yamla person why did I receive a message saying I was to stop posting links on the Abi Titmuss page? I have never looked at the Abi Titmuss page.84.12.191.72 01:12, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You are on a shared IP address. --Yamla 02:03, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'd like to know which of the claimed official website is the real one? I have added both for the moment, but would mind if someone removed them both until the ooficial one can be confirmed. Rgds, - Trident13 09:02, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I took them both down. There has been too much linkspaming of this article for one of the links to allow it to stay with an unclear status. --Spartaz 12:07, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Richard & Judy[edit]

What is the Richard and Judy show? And I don't understand the reference to Hell's Kitchen, New York. Could someone clarify this? -Yamla

Hell's Kitchen, a TV show in the UK (I believe it's now shown in the US). This is a crappy stub for a C-list celebrity. She's famous in the UK this year. There's a much better article that could be written, but I'm not sure who would bother - David Gerard 20:09, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
In the most pointless thing I've done all weekend, I've bothered writing the best article I could. I'm sure there's more to say, but I've done my tour of duty - David Gerard 23:34, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)

When will it end? She makes close to a million quid a year just for showing us her tits. we've seen 'em already! She's not all that anyway... now Melinda Messenger on the other hand... COR!

A "(" needs to be deleted or added to

"Outside of television, she has also modelled for many UK lad's mags, such as FHM, whose readers voted her #7 in FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2005), and Nuts magazine. She also appears frequently in tabloid and occasionally broadsheet newspapers."

the ) at the end either shouldn't be there or needs one at the begining —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.157.222.131 (talk) 17:44, 8 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Part of the problem with Wikipedia is non-UK people editing articles about UK personalities where they understandably have never heard of our institutions, TV programmes, etc. It would be unlikely that someone outside the UK would have any interest in UK personalities anyway so I don't think every tiny reference needs to be explained. If you are puzzled use google...--Shylocksboy (talk) 02:49, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Stats[edit]

Her vital statistics should be included. Or is wikipedia so pompous as to reject this?

No, but if you think it should be done, then you do it.

Her birth year should also be corrected. Right now she was born on the same day/month in two different years, 1975 and 1976. I'd change it, but I don't know which is correct, though IMDb says 1976. --64.236.221.6 16:20, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Corrected, cited to 2 sources. --AnonEMouse (squeak) 16:41, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Picture?[edit]

To paraphrase Fark, this article is useless without pics!

Please feel free to add one, provided you adhere to copyright and free-use laws. --Yamla 21:41, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
And nothing pornographic, even if the lads on here want it. - Erebus555 17:53, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
WP:NOT censored, so if you find a free pornographic image, that's equally fine. —Nightstallion (?) 12:54, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia is not censored but a pornographic picture is inappropriate unless a user would reasonably expect to see such an image when going to the article's page. Principle of least astonishment. And so such a picture would be inappropriate here. --Yamla 14:04, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I know of neither a policy nor a guideline stating that. ;) —Nightstallion (?) 20:43, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Graduated in what, exactly?[edit]

The article states "graduated from City University" - but does not say what her subject was. If medicine, then it would have been unlikely for her to have gone on to become a nurse, rather than a doctor. 82.44.214.197 01:40, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have changed this now DavidFarmbrough (talk) 11:50, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

She did a nursing diploma because her A levels were not good enough to be a doctor (The Secret Diaries of Abigail Titmuss {p9}) --Shylocksboy (talk) 02:54, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bisexuality[edit]

If she's bisexual, could we have a cited reference in the article? -- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 04:35, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I've reviewed the sources, looks like they're one-off things she does occasionally. I've removed the tag. Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 22:06, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
sure, if we can go through straight celebrity's entries and label them as heterosexual.--24.36.19.50 (talk) 04:30, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Link[edit]

My video blog on her was removed why uis this. It was full of quality videos http://abititmusstape.blogspot.com/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.152.255.133 (talk) 17:21, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it was blatantly inappropriate. See WP:SPAM and WP:EL. --Yamla (talk) 17:24, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

John Leslie[edit]

Abi first came into people's awareness because she had been accompanying her then boyfriend John Leslie to court for rape allegations. How come his name wasn't even mentioned once? --Pelikan4001 23:53, 15 May 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.112.163.162 (talk) [reply]

I second that ! This page must have been whitewashed by a lick-spittle fan. This woman would still be a nurse and serving a useful purpose in life if it wasn't for John Leslie. Heck the guy even paid for her breast implants. They've even edited out the sex tape that took her from innocent girlfriend to tabloid slagdom. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.105.148.195 (talk) 12:41, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Count me among the confused. As a TV presenter on Richard & Judy, she was a public figure. She was fired from that gig because of the sex tape -- which launched the career as glamour model which followed. The tape is INSTRUMENTAL to understanding who she is, and why we know her name. The article isn't complete without a proper reference to it. Innocent76 (talk) 23:55, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The information about John Leslie largely got pulled out here because we didn't have a reliable sources for it. You want to put it back in - find those sources. Tabercil (talk) 03:34, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Here's some sources that cover all of the whitewashed topics (it's upto someone else to reincorporate them).....

—Preceding unsigned comment added by 116.30.147.115 (talk) 16:06, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The sources linked above are rather useless as they're undated, but I think it would be reasonable to add a very brief mention of Leslie to the Personal Life section, even if it's simply 'Titmuss had a long-term relationship with television presenter John Leslie. They separated in (whatever the date was)'. But the article's fully protected at the moment so it'll have to wait. Robofish (talk) 22:52, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

References[edit]

This article needs more references. I will do my best to find some over the next few days, but I thought I would make a plea here to the authors, so they can perhaps cite the original sources the information was taken from. --Legalbeaver 14:07, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Place of birth[edit]

According to the 1837 England & Wales BMD, she was born in Newark, Nottinghamshire. I doubt Sleaford Hospital has a maternity unit, and I doubt she was born in Ruskington - home births are risky. But births are registered at the nearest register office - if she was born in Ruskington (which I strongly doubt) she would have been registered in nearby Sleaford. Is she an only child? Newark Hospital may have had a maternity unit. DinosaursLoveExistence (talk) 19:55, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Shocking[edit]

This article gives none of the sense of shock or scandal that arose when a normal respectable nurse and girlfriend of an at the time respectable tv presenter was publicly shown in a "sex tape" doing explicit stuff for public gaze. 78.149.192.49 (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 17:01, 19 October 2008 (UTC).[reply]

Yeah, what about the sextapes? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 49.181.16.17 (talk) 03:05, 28 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The pig[edit]

This article does not mention a pig. I didn't know who this girl is, but Ricky Gervais has mentioned something unmentionable about this woman and a pig; can somebody make the update as necessary? Thanks. 114.137.35.164 (talk) 06:42, 11 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

He would have been talking about Rebecca Loos, not Abi Titmuss. Rebecca Loos collected semen from a pig during the reality TV show The Farm. I'm sure you can guess what she had to do to collect this semen - let's just say some 'intimate porcine massage' was involved. 62.56.115.73 (talk) 11:02, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

'Loaded' magazine shoot.[edit]

It states on the current page "Titmuss returned to glamour modelling with a new Nuts shoot in April 2009. Titmuss attracted controversy after appearing in Loaded magazine rubbing her own faeces on a blow-up doll of former partner John Leslie. Titmuss later said she regretted the shoot.[7]"

However, the link shows an interview with UK porn star Ben Dover although the html address corresponds to a Abi Titmuss related article. I can't find any other articles confirming any such photo shoot. It may be seen as a deregatory remark or defemation. Unsure.

Should this be removed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.169.116.147 (talk) 00:55, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There was no such photo shoot. It is some idiot posting nonsense. loaded is a mainstream magazine that is sold in supermarkets, newsagents etc - it would NEVER run such a shoot. It would get prosecuted under the Obscene Publications Act for one thing. --Shylocksboy (talk) 22:58, 10 January 2011 (UTC) And still this utter bollocks keeps getting put back in by people who should know better. --Shylocksboy (talk) 00:43, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It certainly is utter drivel, but you're thed one who added it back in today [1]. Why are you accusing me of doing it, both here, by implication, and more directly on my talk page? Hullaballoo Wolfowitz (talk) 02:50, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oops. Although I didn't do this. it wasn't you, but somebody using a near-dup of your using name. Tar and feathers for both of us. Hullaballoo Wolfowitz (talk) 12:59, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I know it wasn't me... I keep taking it out! Someone obviously has it in for Miss Titmuss. --Shylocksboy (talk) 16:42, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Seagull Theatre - chance of a wiki link?[edit]

Hi. I've been trying to improve the article for the Seagull theatre and came here to check that Titmuss' performance there was mentioned here - which it is. Any chance of adding a wiki link in to the name of the theatre for us? (last paragraph of the acting section). The short parag that's there reads rather similarly to some of the sources I've read today - particularly the last sentence (it should also read: "The Cut at Halesworth" and the Center in Sudbury should probably be Centre as it's the Sudbury in the UK). Might just want tweaking around a little to avoid a potential copyvio. Lots of additional sources for this performance on the Seagull page if they're needed. Thanks. Blue Square Thing (talk) 19:19, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Asking again for this please - particularly to replace the Americanised spelling and the slight risk of a copyvio. Thanks --Blue Square Thing (talk) 08:06, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have added the link, changed the spelling & changed date to day first format. You can use the {{Editprotected}} template to attract administrator attention to requests like this. Keith D (talk) 12:53, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for doing that. A little thing I know, but it was driving me mad :-) And thanks for the head's up on the template. Blue Square Thing (talk) 13:02, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Did not[edit]

Hi, this bit under publications section is missing a word & I take it the article is not open to editing in general: "She said that she not want her mother to read it." Tks Manytexts (talk) 06:14, 19 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I have added "did" to the sentence. Keith D (talk) 13:53, 19 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Totally useless article: John who?[edit]

Totally useless article!!! Read any other article about Abi Titmuss, and her route to fame is clear. So why does Wikipedia not even mention John Leslie? Ludicrous, get your act together - call yourself an encyclopaedia? --78.148.56.153 (talk) 02:10, 12 August 2011 (UTC) It should definitely mention Leslie. It seems very silly not to but cannot be changed at the moment because of the actions of a number of arseholes writing complete bollocks on the page. --Shylocksboy (talk) 21:58, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Agree. The article fails to mention her first public appearance on the arm of John Leslie when he went on trial accused of rape. When the press discovered who she was and that she was standing by Leslie, that is when Titmuss was noticed. The sex tape came out shortly after he was acquitted. So within a few months Titmuss went from being a complete unknown into a regular tabloid newspaper story. --Gepid (talk) 14:08, 18 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Let me add that in other articles about porn stars, they are identified as porn stars. "[She] is an English actress, television personality, former glamour model and nurse" is almost half of what she is. 72.177.123.145 (talk) 22:20, 10 June 2013 (UTC) Eric[reply]

Merge from Diaries[edit]

I've suggested a merge from The Secret Diaries of Abigail Titmuss into this article because the book doesn't appear to be notable on its own. If there are no objections, I'll soon perform this merge. -- Mikeblas (talk) 17:57, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This merge has been completed. -- Mikeblas (talk) 20:24, 1 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
