apical ridge

I'm not sure what you mean by "apical ridge." In linguistics, apical refers to sounds produced with the tip of the tongue. Are you perhaps referring to the alveolar ridge? This is the fleashy ridge just behind the upper teeth and indeed other romantic languages do produce the r by flapping the alveolar ridge. Grika 01:41, 2 May 2005 (UTC)

Socialist carnation

right|70px Isn't that picture you uploaded a rose instead of a carnation? That doesn't look like a carnation, I'm Portuguese and I know very well what a carnation is - Carnation Revolution. Tây Bồi

Thanks for your outstanding work at Tây Bồi and Vietnamese French. Really superior. Just one question--what's the difference between Tây Bồi and Vietnamese French? The French who emigrated (permanently or temporarily) to VN would not have considered themselves--I'm pretty sure--to speak anything other than standard French of France...therefore the pidgin can be grouped as a separate language/dialect, but the French per se say spoken there is still French, with no qualification...anyway, thanks again for your help.
