Who created the character?[edit]

In the lede to most comic book characters the writer and artist that created them are credited or at least the writer and artist of the first issue where the character was published). This article does not have any information about who created Magma. I believe it was Chris Claremont and maybe Bob McLoed (?), but I don't know for sure. This should be in the article. EDIT: I looked it up on UncannyXMen.net, and determined it was Claremont, Buscema (pencils) and McLoed (inks). I'll add it in. https://uncannyxmen.net/comics/issue/new-mutants-1st-series-8

Image[edit]

To whomever tried adding the image for Magma's appearance in the X-Men Legends game (lower-right corner), you mis-named the image link, so the picture just shows molten rock. I also can't fix it yet as I haven't found the correct image using an Image: namespace search on Wikipedia ... if you ever uploaded it in the first place. 1) The images I put up are more recent - i.e., they reflect the character as she currently appears. 2) The pics you chose are, quite honestly, ugly (Sal Buscema...? And the Leonardi pic's bad too) 3) You haven't given a source for those images. Did you scan them? Take them from another site? - SoM 03:22, 26 Mar 2005 (UTC)

The Buscema picture was the first cover Magma appeared on, and the first issue of her as Magma (not counting the last page of #10). As for the way she currently appears; the x-men have stopped wearing leather costumes so she probably has a new outfit now. And while the Lorocca picture is good, the Kordey one isnt too flattering of her, imo.
As for how she currently appears; the Rachel Summers head picture is taken from Excalibur; that isnt current either.--DrBat 17:17, 26 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Is there any reason for the Sentry character to have a section here? The character is completely non-notable. Just because a non-notable character happens to share a notable character's name doesn't mean that they merit a mention, let alone a full section, in the article under that shared name. -Sean Curtin 08:30, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I feel the image is extremely outdated and not indicative of Magma's actual look. She should most definitely be in her molten form regardless Oopla32606 20:10, 7 Aug 2017 (UTC)

I agree, this image looks nothing like Magma or how she has ever appeared! 17:37 7 Jan 2018 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.78.117.17 (talk)

Minor cleanup[edit]

  • Hello, I cleaned up a few typos and rewrote a couple of sentences. I think the article still needs some more work to improve the style; I'm happy to have a go, but I haven't read the comic and thus it is probably more sensible for someone else to have a go... I'll watch the page and if nobody else gets around to it, then I'll probably have a go. Politepunk 22:53, 9 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • Sorry about it, it was me who created the first and third section, and I'm not a native speaker of English. Thanks for helping and feel free to continue. If I recognize you've edited something so it doesn't fit the real story anymore I'll correct it, but apart of that my job is finished here. I can't supervise myself, but am happy about that someone even tries it. Lajbi 23:57, 9 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
      • I think you did a good job, it's a very comprehensive article. I'll do a few more edits now - feel free to change any edits that change the meaning away from what you intended. Your skills in English are much better than mine in any other language ;-) take care Politepunk 14:17, 10 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
        • I've edited the paragraphs about Jonathan Darque/Magma. Let me know if there were any problems. take care Politepunk 14:55, 10 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
          • No prob. Looks better. Lajbi 18:33, 10 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Powers Section...[edit]

It is also a royal mess. Could we get an expert in here? Flutterman (talk) 00:06, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pared it down a little bit and removed all unverifiable information. Hope this helps. 98.117.129.238 (talk) 04:05, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Magma (XMenEvo).jpg[edit]

Image:Magma (XMenEvo).jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
