Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Matthew Richardson (2nd nomination)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Matthew Richardson was proposed for deletion. This page is an archive of the discussion about the proposed deletion. This page is no longer live. Further comments should be made on the article's talk page rather than here so that this page is preserved as an historic record. The result of the debate was DELETE

Survived VfD in May 2004 with 6 deletes and 6 keeps (2 of which were "weak keeps"). Re-listed because Ruzwana Bashir has been listed above, and it would be silly to merge or delete one and not the other. By the way, my vote for this article is: whatever action is taken on the first listing should apply to this one. • Benc • 03:44, 11 Oct 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete: It could be merged and deleted, with a courtesy redirect, but I think this tempest, in particular, is suffering from impassioned and personally concerned edits. Will it be notable in even one year? No doubt about the importance of the campus organization, but very little confidence that the high profile of the organization conveys notability to its office holders. • Delete, same reasons as Ruzwana Bashir: being VP of the Oxford Union doesn't make him notable, and neither does his (admittedly amusing) Chinese escapade. Pnot 08:43, 11 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete: This is a vanity page for a non-notable student. There are two Matthew Richardsons who are more famous - a renowned Professor of Economics at NYU, and a football star.

  • With the above now in mind, delete. Ambi 07:25, 14 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. Disagree with Benc. I think the controversy is notable, hence the central figure (Ms. Bashir) in the controversy is notable. Could move the whole thing to the Oxford Union page, for example. But I would draw the line before we got to Mr. Richardson. Chrisvls 22:30, 15 Oct 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete. This can be covered in the Ruzwana Bashir article and otherwise seems non-notable. Gamaliel 06:15, 16 Oct 2004 (UTC)
