Rock and Roll Hall of fame[edit]

Country Joe and The Fish have been overlooked by the Rock and Roll Hall of fame long enough. 2005 marks the 40th Anniversary of this historic band. Country Joe has continued the legacy with recent performaces of The Country Joe Band. The band released a one song CD in 2004 called "Cake Walk To Baghdad" - the song was penned by bassist Bruce Barthol. Name?[edit]

Stalin's nickname in the 1940s was Uncle Joe, not Country Joe (unless there's another one that I've never heard). Electric Music[edit]

In the last paragraph, the claim is that "in the summer of 1968.[20] Hirsh suggested that instead of the opening chorus spelling 'fish', it would spell 'fuck', giving birth to the infamous 'Fuck Cheer'" The band used the "Fuck Cheer" on Sunday, June 11, 1967, at the Mt. Tamalpais Magic Mountain Music Festival. So while it may be true that Hirch made such a suggestion in the summer of '68, the cheer was at least a year old by that time. Casady was a guest helping out ....[edit]
