You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Bricks by the Bay requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} at the top of the article, immediately below the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate), and providing your reasons for contesting on the article's talk page, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

You may want to read the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. Corvus cornixtalk 22:22, 11 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This article has been userified to User:Billward/Bricks by the Bay... I think that the topic is notable enough for an article, so this gives you time and space to work on the references, which as we've discussed offline, are out there. This convention has been featured in media world wide. ++Lar: t/c 14:53, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

January 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Bricks by the Bay, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Corvus cornixtalk 22:28, 11 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer be able to have them marked as minor by default. For more information on what a minor edit is, see WP:MINOR or feel to get in touch.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 21:11, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ryer Island Ferry[edit]

I saw the article Ryer Island Ferry ... it looks to me like "Ryer Island Ferry" is just the generic name applied to the Real McCoy II (ie: there is no vessel named "Ryer Island Ferry", it's just an alternate name for the "Real McCoy II").

I'm thinking that the article Ryer Island Ferry (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) should just be a redirect to Real McCoy II (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views), and the target article have the first sentence modified to state that it's sometimes referred to as the Ryer Island Ferry. But, I wanted to discuss with you first. As it stands, the two articles are mostly redundant to each other. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 21:15, 17 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I think there is a difference between the vessel itself and the route it serves. The name of the vessel is of less interest to drivers traveling the route than the location, hours, etc. of the service. I agree the two articles are mostly identical but I imagined they would diverge over time as more details are added in the future.Bill (talk) 08:40, 18 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
