From VfD:

Very common name for college newspapers and literary magazines. This one's a college literary magazine. No evidence of wider notability. Geogre 18:24, 23 Aug 2004 (UTC)

  • Not from Dartmouth? Still a delete, provides no evidence of notability. --Michael Snow 19:18, 23 Aug 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. I've never heard of the school, let alone the publication. Unless the magazine has a significant readership outside, this information belongs on the school's website, not in an encyclopedia. Isomorphic 19:24, 23 Aug 2004 (UTC)
Do not redirect or merge. It is sufficient to mention in the school's article that the literary magazine is called the Argus. The rest of the article is generic and would serve no purpose in the school article. Isomorphic 18:37, 24 Aug 2004 (UTC)
  • Merge with the school page. Rhymeless 23:34, 23 Aug 2004 (UTC)
  • Merge and Redirect to Northwestern State University. Kevyn 23:45, 23 Aug 2004 (UTC)
  • Do not redirect. There are multiple newspapers named The Argus. For example, look at http://www.theargusonline.com. Namespace should not be hogged by minor users of it. Average Earthman 10:58, 24 Aug 2004 (UTC)
    • Comment: Yes, but do any other papers called The Argus have content here? Until they do, it's the only logical destination for the redirect. If other papers by that name develop content on Wikipedia, then the page should become a disambig page. Kevyn 08:58, 25 Aug 2004 (UTC)
    • Or we could delete it. :-) Geogre 02:50, 26 Aug 2004 (UTC) (Not voting, because the nomination is a vote.)
  • Delete - Do not redirect - too confusing for a common title - Tεxτurε 20:39, 24 Aug 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete, merge if desired, no redirect for reasons stated above. [[User:Siroxo|—siroχo

  • Keep re: What to list and not list on VfD. Should be a disambiguation page --> 302K Google hits: [1]. I hope all of you voting delete realize you are saying that Wikipedia should not have an article or redirect or disambiguation page named "The Argus" now or in the future. Davodd 12:47, Aug 26, 2004 (UTC)
    • I'm not. I'm saying that we don't create a disambiguation page until we have things to disambiguate, but that an article on the literary magazine at NWU is not notable, and, in addition, it could not justify the name space. There are truly dozens of literary magazines and newspapers called "Argus" in the US alone, so the disambiguation page would be very, very long. About each of these there would be very little to say that wouldn't be vanity. Geogre 16:30, 26 Aug 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Hundreds of thousands of google hits. anthony (see warning) 13:42, 28 Aug 2004 (UTC)
