Untitled[edit]

I'm removing the following disputed section:

He was a producer of newsmagazine segments on the NBC show "Dateline." He was dismissed from that job when it was shown that one of his pieces featured inaccurate information.

Mainly because I couldn't find any other mention of this. I searched google for Hovis Dateline and got nothing. If someone else can find more information, I would be happy to see it returned. --SeanO 11:17, Sep 16, 2003 (UTC)

As I remember, Hovis was fired from a new version of Candid Camera after it was discovered that some of the participants were in on it and were acting instead of having natural responses. Abbeywood (talk) 05:41, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wedding Ring[edit]

I read once that Larry refused to remove his wedding ring for the filming of Hogan's Heroes. Apparently, because his character was unmarried, it was usually masked by him wearing gloves or having his left hand hidden out of shot. It *can* be seen during the opening credits of certain episodes as he cranks up the flagpole/radio antenna. If anyone has some better sources to cite, then I think that this should be included in the article. 70.212.237.158 (talk) 05:23, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Larry and the 1965 Hollywood Palace Christmas Show[edit]

I've seen many instances on the internet regarding a story that Larry Hovis thwarted a kidnapping attempt on one of Bing's Crosby's children outside of the El Capitan/Hollywood Palace Theater on the day that the 1965 Christmas show was filmed. An assistant supposedly begged Larry not to tell Bing what had happened. If there's any independent verification, this would be a nice addition to Larry's article.
